Have you ever been towing and had to deal with that awful back-and-forth jostling for your entire trip? It's enough to make you feel sick. And that bumpy, jerky ride not only takes a toll on you as you drive, but it beats up your equipment too, leading to premature wear and tear on both your truck and trailer. This is because most ball mounts are made almost completely of metal, so there's nothing to help soften the road shock you experience while driving down the highway at high speeds.
Fortunately, the Shocker Hitch Impact Max helps solve that problem.
The Shocker Hitch Impact Max ball mount is equipped with 2 rubber bumpers located on opposite sides of the adjustable channel. When the channel body moves back and forth along with your trailer, these bumpers help to absorb the road shock and vibration. This cushion helps protect your equipment and, more importantly, keeps you and your passengers from getting jostled around the cab when you're towing over bumpy roads and rough terrain.
Unlike other shock-absorbing systems that use air bags, which require you to consistently add and remove air, the Impact Max is nearly maintenance-free. Just grease it up using the zerk fitting on the side of the unit, and you're ready to go.
If you tow trailers with various heights, adjusting the height of the hitch ball is an easy process. When the ball mount is in its standard drop position, simply remove the pins and clips holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down to the desired location. You can also flip the unit over and use it in its rise position, giving you even more versatility. Once you have the correct height, reinsert the pins and secure the clips, and fold back the handles so they're out of the way. Then you're ready to go.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Shocker impact max cushioned adjustable drop ball mount for your 2-inch hitch receiver. Now, this shock-absorbing ball mount uses two rubber bumpers to provide a steady towing experience while towing your camper or boat trailer. And it will dampen road shock and help reduce rattle when you are towing over rough terrain and help absorb and isolate vibration. So this is going to be great for your trucks, your SUVs, and your CUVs.
And this hooks your trailer to your tow vehicle with this included adjustable drop ball mount attachment that has a 2 and 5/16-inch hitch ball. This is made here in the USA of a grade 50 steel plate construction and cold rolled steel shank to give you maximum durability. And this has a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 2000 pounds. But it is important to remember that a towing setup is always limited by its lowest-rated component, whether that be your vehicle, your hitch, or another component. Now, as you see here, this does include two easy-to-remove pins, and we have these large rings that are gonna be very easy to grasp.
As you can see, I can fit four of my fingers through each of those rings, so you're not gonna have to worry about fumbling with small hitch pin heads. And then, these large safety clips here are going to make securing the clips very easy. This channel-style ball mount offers a maximum drop of about 7-inches and a minimum drop of about 4-inches. So this is going to let you tow trailers of various heights. And the inside width of this channel, we're sitting right at about 3 and 3/4-inches across.
And the distance between our vertical adjustment holes that we have right here, they are sitting about an inch on center. Now you can mount any Shocker Hitch accessory, including their pintle hook, their clevis pin, and drawbar attachments into the channel to hook up to even more trailers. Of course, all of those attachments are sold separately from this, but you can find them under the related product section on this product page. Now, unlike other shock-absorbing systems that use airbags, which require you to consistently add or remove air, this impact max is nearly maintenance-free. You just need to grease it up with this zerk fitting here on the side, and then you are ready to go.
This is shot blasted and powder coated to help prevent against rust and corrosion. And our 2 and 5/16-inch hitch ball is zinc plated. So again, this is going to fit your 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, and the hitch pinhole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. I do wanna point out that a pin and clip is sold separately. This does not include a pin and clip, so if you do not already have a compatible pin and clip, you would have to pick one up. However, since this is really an investment that you are making in this mount, I would recommend taking a look at the infiniterule locking pins for Shocker Hitch ball mounts for 2-inch and 2 and 1/2-inch hitches. Included with that are three pins, two to lock and secure your attachment to the mount here and then another pin to secure this whole unit to your trailer hitch receiver. If you're interested in checking those out, I am including our item number to those locking pins on your screen. You can just take that item number and put it in the search field of our website, and it will take you to those locking pins so you can secure this to your trailer hitch receiver. Now the overall height is going to be right at about 10-inches tall, and the distance from the farthest hitch pin hole to the middle of our ball is right at about 11 and 3/4-inches. Compatible with all Shocker Hitch accessories.After using your e-trailer bracket to eliminate the receiver from rattling, I got the rattle back from the "drop bracket". I still gave it a 4 star because the amount of rattle is reduced very considerably.
Works as expected and well built, heavy duty hitch.

Not too well. Between its limited adjustability only works for one of my four trailers and heavy weight, I find myself rarely using it. But once it is hitched, it works well.
