Today we're going to be taking a look at the Paneloc spring release latch. This is a left hand spring release latch that keeps doors and gates closed. Can be used for a lot of other applications as well. It offers really nice ease of use. Just a really nice design. Spring loaded design allows that unit to easily function.
It's a nice seamless design, so no kinking or getting hung up. When it comes to the construction of the unit, it's a zinc plated steel construction. It's very strong and durable and provides corrosion resistance. The handle can be secured in the open position or the close position. You can see there it's got the notches for each position.
That's a rubber coated handle and that's on there with adhesive, so you don't have to worry about that slipping off when you're using it. It's going to feature the ball style pin that allows the latch to secure even when not perfectly aligned with the keeper. The rounded edge provides more metal on metal contact while also allowing room for misalignment. The mounting plate is going to feature a three hole design for secure bolt on installation. Few measurements to go over you with real quick starting with just the bracket dimensions. Edge to edge that bracket measures three and a half inches.
Going this direction edge to edge that's going to give us a measurement of an inch and a quarter. The overall depth it's going to be about 5/8 of an inch deep. The mount holes on this unit measure quarter of an inch in diameter. Outer hole to outer hole, center on center separated by two and 3/4 of an inch, that means that each hole itself center on center is separated by one and 3/8 of an inch apart from one another. When it comes to the diameter of the pin that's a 3/8 inch diameter pin.
The extension is how far it extends from the body. That's going to be one and 1/8 of an inch when it comes to the extension. That's going to do it for today's look at the Paneloc spring release latch.

Zinc-plated steel construction.Not my first order from etrailer and definitely not my last. My only complaint would be in the packing of small or fragile items loosely in a box with heavier items. One of the trailer light mounts was broken when it got here. No other issues though.
I used this combined with the right hand latch on my Jeep tailgate. stay latched even guring the roughest off roading adventures.
