Today we're going to be taking a look at the Paneloc right-hand spring latch. Spring latches can be used for a variety of applications. This spring latch is reliable and used primarily on hinge doors and panels and would be great for securing gates, small trailer gates and other light-weight doors. The unit's going to feature smooth, trouble free action. It provides easy access and secure closure. The spring latch is ideal for inspection doors and access panels.
It's going to feature the ball-point style pin end. It's going to feature the tensioned, tempered spring that provides positive pin release and return and on the end of the spring, it's going to feature the C-ring. That's going to prevent the spring from over-traveling and snagging. It's going to come with that two-hole mounting plate, pre-drilled holes, mounting hardware is not included. It's a stainless steel construction, so it's going to be strong and durable, and resist rust and corrosion. Pin diameter on this unit is 3/8".
The extension, that's how far it extends past the body, that's going to be an extension of 1" and then when it comes to the length of the body, measuring edge to edge going this direction, that's going to give us a measurement of 4". The body width is around 1 3/4", right in that area. That's from this point here, to the very back. The body thickness, that's the thickness of this plate, that's 0.080", which is 1/16". From the flat side to the center of the pin is around 5/16", so that's from basically the mounting surface to the center of the pin.
The mount hole on the unit are separated on center by 2 1/2", and they will accept 5/16" hardware. Again hardware is not included, and the overall length of the pin, measuring from on edge to the other, that's going to give us a measurement of about 6 5/8". That's going to do it for today's look at the Paneloc right-hand spring latch.

Exactly what I needed for modification of scooter carrier to secure ramp. Only critic I have is I had to go to manufactures web site to confirm specifications of part.
