This lock fits square 2" ball couplers. An example of a coupler it fits is pictured below.
This coupler lock has a disc tumbler locking mechanism. Unlike locks that use vulnerable spring-loaded pins, this ultra-secure lock is bump-proof. The cylinder has a series of rotating discs that can be correctly lined up only when you turn the corresponding key. Two identical notched keys are included to operate the lock. Because these keys feature 1 of nearly a million possible key codes, it's extremely unlikely that another individual will have a key that can open this lock.

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we'll gonna be checking out this AMPLock, square coupler lock, on a two inch ball. And it's gonna be a heavy duty lock to put at the end of your coupler, that way nobody can mess with it when you're not around. It's made out of cast iron. So that's how heavy duty it is. Let's check it out.
Now the cast iron portion here is going to be shock absorbent. So that's all this part on the front. So it does a lot of coverage on the coupler, which I really like. And let me get this pry bar here and show you that even though it is exposed there on the end, let's see. So I can't get that in there and pry on that, but again, I don't know that this pry bar is gonna do much against that cast iron.
Something else we noticed was the sides of our lock here on the front are as thick as the pry bar itself we we're using, so I don't think this is gonna do a whole lot. Down here in the bottom, we have a rotating disc tumbler lock, and it's gonna have a million different combinations. You get two keys with it. It's going to be resistant to drilling and picking just because of the way it's set up. So you just kind of turn the key a few times.
Then the lock, the button portion pops down, lets you know that it's disengaged, a nice thing about that though, too, is when you are going to go set up, so let's say I'm getting all this set up on the trailer, I don't need the keys for this part, so I can just push this back up into place and it's locked in there and not going anywhere. But then to undo it, again, like I said, use that key, just turn it. This portion pops back down, and then you can remove the front. With the front cover removed, we can see our two inch ball here. We're going to remove it from the coupler.
So this part works with a lock to kind of take up all that space up there in the coupler. So you see the ball fits right up in there, and the lock portion goes into here, lock it on place. And I really like that 'cause it works together with that front cover, so you can't get in from the sides, this takes up all the space on the inside, really locks everything up nice. Looking at the inside here, just want to give you some inside dimensions just to make sure it's gonna fit on your square coupler. So the inner width is going to be 3-7/16" and the inner height is going to be 5-1/8". Now, if you like this style, and you don't have a square coupler on your trailer, they do make different versions of this for different style trailers with different size, and with lips. So make sure you look into that and get the right one with your trailer. Otherwise though, I think this is gonna be really nice to have. I have confidence in it just because it's got that front cover, and then this takes up that space in the ball, and together, like nobody's going to be messing with my trailer, they're just gonna move on to the next one that doesn't have anything. Impressive lock. Well machined.
I was disappointed I couldn’t engage ball with the hitch ball clamp assembly after the flange lock was installed.
Good tight fit, tough construction, and a disk core. It has sat out in the elements it's whole life and the lock still spins like new. I did drop the ball portion with the key still in it and it bent the key. That's my fault though. I Like the lock.

This is the best trailer tung lock I have ever used. Heavy duty, well built, with a very unique key system that was well thought out. YES, I would highly recommend the AMP LOCK SYSTEM FOR YOUR TRAILER. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
I have a car hauler with 2 inch receiver rolled lip. This coupler lock has what I wanted. It should prevent the opportunitistic thief from taking trailer.its a solid lock . I leave a trailer off-site so it's just added insurance. It will take some grinding to get off. Key is heavy and solid so shouldn't break in lock. Happy with purchase.
I am impressed with the quality of the lock. The day we put it on in Buffalo, our sons bikes were stolen out of his garage. We were parked right in front of it. We were happy to have had it on.
AMPLock coupler lock is fantastic. Used daily. Very well made, strong and def trust regularly to keep my trailer safe.
Nice trailer lock, its expensive but if some one steals the boat it would be very in expensive then. :)
This is a nice lock, but there is plenty of room between the lip of the lock and the body of the trailer coupler for a prybar to be used. The coupler does have quite a bit of 'play' when installed - probably because it is a universal lock and as such it is designed to accommodate the dimensional differences between coupler manufacturers. Overall, the quality is very nice, and I have some ideas regarding how to 'tighten' up the fit between the lock and the coupler via shims. The manufacturer should consider including some shims - which could be used to provide a better fit between the lock body and the coupler.

The lock is heavy duty and great. But it DID NOT work on my 2022 Jayco Micro. The lock mechanism needs to be about ?” shorter to clear the lower lip of the trailer hitch. e trailer wanted a 20% restocking fee plus for me to pay for shipping since I was outside my return window. The trailer was in for service so I could not test it out before the return policy ended. So I am either going to sell it or try to modify it myself.I would not buy it again for my 2022 Jayco.
This AMP Lock Trailer Coupler Lock might be expensive but you get what you pay for here I believe. I have purchased 3 of these based on what I believe to be a quality product.
I had a friend recommend this to me a year ago. Excellent lock for securing my car hauler! I recommend this to anyone that needs a trailer lock.

This lock is a solid and hefty piece of equipment. Make sure to get the right model for your set-up. The width of the lip on my trailer was 3.75” and the lock fits like a glove.

Solid made, would be very very time consuming to overcome this lock , The lock cylinder is on the bottom, is harder to get to for locking and unlocking, That's ok is harder for thief to overcome it, This lock is well made and very heavy, Im glad to have this.
Has worked flawlessly for over a year stored outdoors in Chicago. Finish seems to be holding up and the action still works smooth. This is a very robust design that would be difficult to defeat.
This is the best I've found for a 20K Demco coupler. Easy to install, proprietary keys, really really good quality.If you see how its designed and works it'll help understand the cost.If I had a claim w the piece attached to this coupler, at least the insurance co would see I made every effort to protect my asset.Buy Once cry once. If someone gets past this to get your equipment,there was not much you could do to protect it. etrailer has done well carrying quality equipment.zero complaints.
Heavy duty item! It is a little looser when installed than I thought it would be but I understand it fits many different hitch types. Even though it does fit a little loose in my opinion, in no way would anyone be able to get it off!

It’s been a year since I bought my AMPLoxk for my boat trailer. So far no corrosion or difficulty locking or in locking like many other locking devices in south Florida’s heat and humidity.
