Custom-Fit Towing Mirrors

Easily extend your field of vision and reduce blind spots with these CIPA slip-on towing mirrors. By adding them to your OEM side-view mirrors, you can see beyond the end of your trailer. This will allow you to safely and easily change lanes, pass, and park with a trailer in tow.

Each of these mirrors is molded to perfectly match the contours of your factory side mirrors. Simply slide the mirrors over your side-view mirrors and use the custom-formed, felt-covered wedges to hold the mirrors in place. Each wedge wraps around the inside edge of your OEM mirror and can be tightened onto the mirror with an easily accessible hand knob.

The mirrors fit my 1997 Ford F250 HD perfectly. The threaded clips and threaded nob are cheap. The plastic threads that tighten the mirror to the vehicle are easily damaged. Mirrors would be better if the clips were made better. Giving 4 stars based on the flimsy clips.

by:

The concept is great, however the connection to the mirror has a plastic screw, not the ones shown here in the picture which look to be metal. I have not even used the mirrors and first time removing them, the plastic screw (why??) breaks.

The hardware for these mirrors are plastic. They are designed that way because if the screw was mental it would scratch the OEM mirrors. In this case we can replace the hardware part # CM11002 under the one year warranty. Customer Service will be in touch.

Was a little worried about mirrors fitting but am happy they fit perfectly

by:

The mirrors worked terrific when I needed to tow my trailer. Mounting was very easy. However, the fit was loose. I expected this from previous comments from other buyers of this particular mirror. Also, several commented on the viewing was shaky while driving highway speed. I knew all these negative comments before I ordered them. Then you may be wondering why I ordered them knowing there were bad comments on the product. Because, I was planning to use them only when I pulled my trailer. Ease of taking them on and off was of utmost importance to me. The shakiness comment. I figured I could find some way to stabilize them. There must be dozens of ways to stabilize them. I simply cut about six, 1" by 4" pieces of cardboard our the outer box the two mirrors were shipped to me in and stuffed them int the gaps between my existing mirror and the temporary mirrors. Filling the gaps resulted in a pretty stable set of mirrors. They were not as stable as the permanent mirrors, but good enough to see approaching truck that were about to pass me or clear enough to change lanes. That is all I was hoping for and perhaps backing the trailer when needed. Thank you for providing a great product.

Perfect fit without modifications

1989 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350

Mirrors fit as described. Mounting hardware is a little tricky to be sure they do not cross thread (plastic threads and thumbscrew), however threads need to be tight to prevent working lose. Screwing the hardware together completely a couple of times before mounting on the vehicle helped prevent stripping the threads. Allows us to see the sides and tires of the RV as we back up.

The mirrors continue to work and look good after a year in the weather. Vibration can be an issue at times based on speed and wind but we are still able to tell when we are being overtaken and passed by other vehicles. They are great for backing the 5th wheel into a camping site.

by:

I have used e-trailer on other purchases each and every time parts were shipped quickly efficiently. I find service is exceptional through a trailer.

by:
1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty

These fit on to the mirrors of my 1997 Ford Powerstroke XLT like a glove. The plastic latch clicked on the truck mirror to give it a sturdy enough feel. For the price these will be really hard to beat. I some walks off with them when I am in the store it won't be the end of the world.

I have been happy with the CIPA mirrors until literally this past weekend. They function just as expected and give me the extension to see around the camper I wanted. However this last weekend the passenger side mirror disappeared. When we first got them the clip on the passenger side would frequently pop loose after shutting the door. We would just roll the window put the clip back on the mirror and be on our way. Then for the last several months after I tightened it a little more and positioned it just right we had no issues. Door would close clip would stay in place and we would head out. This last Sunday I was backing up to the box trailer and looked over and the CIPA mirror was gone. On Saturday we had towed a 29 ft boat about hundred miles and it was grunt to get it to where we were going. I suspect the mirror got jarred loose and it fell off on the highway but I can’t confirm that. Someone may have swiped it but taking only one side seems weird. But if you are stealing mirrors I am not going to question your intelligence.

Ford Edge

The product is good, yet what I find frustrating is that I bought both the truck mirror and extension towing mirror from etrailer and still modifications needed to be done on the truck mirror for the extension mirror to be attached. Having said that, the end result is a better vision option than even the little fish eye mirrors ever could provide. Better vision, but not as cosmetically pleasing as I would have hoped for since both were bought from the same supplier.

The truck mirror is 1/2" too thick to have the towing mirror slip over it. The good news is that it is a VERY tight fit so no wiggle. Caulk needs to be applied to the finished product since I had to cut away the black rubber gasket on the brand new truck mirror. Additionally the fastener need to be modified so that the end hook can be screwed in to grip the outer edge of the truck mirror.

Good, yet still needs work after the purchase to make the product function.

Which mirrors are your truck equipped with? On the product description page, we show a photo of the exact OEM mirrors these towing mirrors are compatible with.

by:

First order was the incorrect mirror, was my mistake. etrailer sent me new mirrors and a shipping label to return the wrong mirrors. Was easy fix and great experience working with etrailer. Thank you!

by:
1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty

There’s room for improvement. The plastic hooks that hold the extensions on the factory mirror break easily. Buy an extra set. The mirrors are loose and dance in the wind and need to be convex so you have a wider view. I added stick on convex mirrors that covered the whole flat mirror. Also they won’t fit over the aftermarket replacement mirrors. You need the original factory mirrors.

You mentioned that the passengers side mirror would not fit. I wanted to confirm that you have a 1987 Ford Bronco. Would you be able to send a picture of how it is not fitting?

David

4/11/2022

I believe that the passenger side mirror is after market and is a tad bit thicker and the mirror will not slide over it

Since it is aftermarket then it would cause the towing mirror to fit differently than if it was factory. I do not have a ready made solution for a towing mirror that would fit.

by:
1996 Ford F-250 and F-350

I installed one to see if it would fit, but haven't pulled a trailer with them on yet. These mirrors fit exactly as described. The most helpful part of ordering was that in the product description, etrailer provided a picture of the particular mirror on the pickup that this product would fit. Made it easy to pick the right ones. Thanks etrailer.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado

I loved these mirrors. I tow a bumber pull trailer with my 2018 chevy silverado 1500 and the mirrors work great, go on easy, and stay on

by:

This weekend I used the mirror extensions for the first time and it was a complete disaster.
First of all the mirror in the extension was shaking the whole time and it was really hard to know what you were looking.
Then after 3 hours the left mirror extension fell from the mirror in the middle of the highway and of course I lost it.

by:

These are OK. The biggest issue is there are not a lot of towing mirrors for the older vehicles These do vibrate more than I would like.

by:
1996 Ford F-250 and F-350

Matt P. Mirrors came quickly in the mail and easy to install. I have left them on the truck for about a year and had no problems. Easy to see through good visibility would suggest these to a friend.

by:

Only took a few minutes to install and they fit my 1996 f350 perfectly
Great product, wonderful and quick service
Much better than parts stores who tried to sell me stuff that didn't fit and wasn't made for my truck.
