Wiring your car for flat towing has never been easier. No more testing wires or splicing into your electrical system. No need to painstakingly position multiple diodes beneath your vehicle. No worries about voiding your warranty. With this custom-fit towed vehicle wiring kit from Hopkins, all you have to do is plug the harness into your vehicle's existing wiring, which is located behind your car's tail light assemblies. No cutting, tapping, or splicing is required.
After plugging in the wiring harness, use the included bracket to mount the 4-way flat connector at the front of your towed car. An extension loop (sold separately) is required to connect your towed car to your RV.
Because your vehicle has a combined lighting system - wherein the brake signals and the turn signals are carried on a single wire - a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if you use a supplemental braking system with your towing setup. A supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal in your towed car every time you apply the brakes in your RV. So, if your towed car's brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed and the engine is off - as is the case when towing - then you need to install a relay to ensure that the lights on your towed car always act in accordance with the signals sent by your RV via the wiring harness. Without a relay, the brake signal from your towed car will override the turn signal sent by your RV when you slow down to make turns, creating a potential hazard.

I was looking for a wiring harness to tow my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I watched a YouTube vidio sponsored by you guys. The video recommended the Hopkins wiring harness. I ordered it, it came with in 3 days as promised and was extremely simple to install!!! Love a company that that delivers what it advertises!!! Thanks again!!!

Instructions were wrong. Wires were too long no tape in box. And I now other than that it’s fine. have to buy an adapter cord to plug it in.
This was a breeze to install!! About 30 min and I had working lights on my Jeep and was ready to hook it up behind my motorhome. Price was great too. Stopped at my local RV dealer and he said he could get me a wiring kit for $250! Saw this one online for $50 bucks and took a chance. Sure glad I did! Disconnect a couple of plugs, plug in new harness, route the wires to the front and BOOM! Ready for the trip! Thanks guys!
Easy to install ! About an hour! Used some split flexible wire protection ( not included with purchase) Would recommend a 5ft 4 pole flat trailer connector extension when using a tow bar!

Works great! I flat tow my Jeep TJ. It gives me running, brake and turn signals on the Jeep.
It all wired up the way the videos showed and worked with no problems. Thank you for posting the videos as the paper instructions were pretty weak.
I dunno I just got the kit. Haven't had time to install it

Quality product, purchased a year ago. Installed in my Jeep in roughly 30 min give or take. The directions were easy to read and understand. I highly recommended this product to anyone wanting to wire in taillight for flat tow. You can’t beat the price for a good quality kit like this, a year later and still works flawlessly. This is a true plug and play product. Why pay a shop top $$$ when you can install a hopkins kit in an afternoon. Good job hopkins
This wiring harness was exactly what I was looking for so that I could tow my jeep behind my RV. No cutting, just plug and play (er I mean tow). There was plenty of extra wiring at the front end so that I could route through the engine bay and mount under the front bumper so it was out of site but easily accessible. Worked perfectly!
This kit was easy to install direction were very straightforward to follow. Made several trips including 4000 mile trip over the last year with no issues with connection.
Good product. Install directions should include which plug in at each taillight should be used if you already have trailer hitch plug in wiring installed. Had to go to Youtube and find a video that talked about the correct colored wire you should connect to. Other than that, install went well.
I just finished installing this harness on my 2003 Wrangler. As any wiring on a Jeep, it was uncomfortable and tight to access the wiring. This is normal. The installation sheet instructions were inaccurate for my model, I have a career in automotive, so it was no problem for me. I installed this for flat towing of my Jeep. I ran the harness over the fuel tank and down the drivers side undercarriage, that is where the main harness and brake lines run.
This product does exactly want its description states. It took me 2 hours...most of the time was spent trying to fish out my connectors on my TJ Wrangler especially the right was difficult...I'm still sporting a few cuts on my hand and forearm cuz the metal behind the right tail light is sharp. My local RV repair/installer wanted about 500 bucks to do want this part does. Now I'm legal to tow my jeep to Moab with my Tundra. When it gets warmer I will insulate the wires a bit more.

After one year on the vehicle and also installing new LED lights, the wiring kit is still working. I love not having to add extra lights for towing.
We installed the wiring harness and never could get it to work so now we use magnetic lights. It was labor intense too install and a little gun shy to re-order the same product. I am a mechanic and was very disappointed in the light unit.

I have made many trips towing my jeep and everything is still working perfectly!!!
