Video Transcript for etrailer Cam Buckle Tie Down Straps Review

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out these etrailer cambuckle straps. They're gonna be one inch in width and 10 feet long. Let's check 'em out. These cambuckle straps are gonna be great for tying things down in your cargo carrier, or maybe if you had a kayak carrier up on your roof, you want to strap down the kayaks. These are gonna be great for that.

You have the cambuckle here in the center, which you used to tighten down the strap onto whatever you want to haul as cargo. So you see we have it run through the bottom of our cargo carrier with the open design at the bottom, keeping our cooler in place. We have a hook loop strap here where we can undo that helps keep the extra strap out of the way. Now it's gonna be really easy to loosen it. You just push on the cambuckle here, loosen it to take it out, and then to tighten it down.

Once you run it through, you just pull on the extra until it gets tight, and then just tie up the extra so they don't take very long to get set up or put in place. Cambuckle straps are gonna have a safe working low limit of 440 pounds and then they're also gonna have a brake strength of 1,320 pounds. So just keep that in mind with which you wanna haul. It's gonna be this rubber pad that goes right under the cambuckle. It's gonna keep it from digging in or damaging whatever you're hauling with the straps.

I like that extra precaution. Also, the zinc coating on the cambuckle is gonna make sure it doesn't rust or corrode, but I like that there's double stitching here on this section 'cause this is where a lot of the tension's gonna come when you tying it down and you don't want the strap to rip apart. It's also made out of polyester webbing so it's like a seatbelt material, so I know it's not gonna rip easily. Now let's go over how to use them. Now they're cambuckle straps, they don't have ends on them so there's not gonna be S hooks or anything like that.

You're gonna run the strap through itself and then it tightens down around the cargo. So what we wanna do first is take our strap, we're gonna run it under the cargo carrier. We'll set the cambuckle up on top. I'll run this through the bottom, bring it right up here through the middle, make sure it's not twisted up. Sit it on top of our cooler, we're gonna run it through the cambuckle. So what you wanna do is push down on the button, and feed this up through there. Now it can be kind of difficult sometimes. You only get a little bit of the strap through or you can't hold the button while pulling the strap through, so. Now that wasn't too bad. But if that's not something you want to deal with every single time, we do have straps from etrailer that have S hooks with keepers at the end. This is the etrailer cambuckle strap with the S hooks and all rolled up. You see the one without the S hooks that we look at today is smaller. So if you're worried about storage space in your vehicle, in your glove box, these are gonna take up less space. Overall, I did like these cambuckle straps, really easy to use and since they come in a quantity of two, it's easy to get the cargo strapped down to the cargo carrier or even set up a kayak on the roof and get going. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope it's helped.
