Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Curt replacement base plate safety cable. This is a direct replacement from Curt to replace one safety cable that came with your Curt base plate. This cable, just like the original, is going to wrap around the vehicle's frame to provide that back up connection between your base plate and the vehicle frame. It does have a vinyl coating to protect against rust and help to make it easier to handle the cable as you're installing it.
So, everything just like the original. It's got the same 7,500 pound maximum brake force. It is 3 feet in total length. And it is 3/8 of an inch thick. So, just like the original.
And because this is a Curt replacement you can trust it's gonna work with your Curt base plate. You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that. But this is just one safety cable. So if you're needing a replacement for both sides you would just need to get a second one as well. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty.
So if you we're to have any problems with it you can give us a call. We'd be happy to help you out with that. But overall I think this can be a very simple way of replacing that safety cable if your original has become damaged or lost. This is Curt's replacement for you.
