The heavy-duty RidgeLine towers allow you to mount 2 Yakima crossbars (sold separately) to your vehicle with flush, factory side rails. The towers adjust during installation to ensure your crossbars are level and that the rack is seated correctly on your roof. The RidgeLine's versatile BarBed accommodates Yakima's full line of crossbars. The towers install with Yakima's DropHook system and RidgeClips (sold separately).
Versatile BarBed
The RidgeLine's BarBed is specifically designed to work with Yakima's entire line of crossbars.
The BarBed is curved to accommodate the elliptical shape of the CoreBar and JetStream crossbar. The CoreBar includes brackets that slide over the bar and secure to the towers with bolts. The JetStream attaches directly to the tower with bolts.
The towers also work with Yakima RoundBars with adapters (Y03536 - sold separately). The adapters slide over the bars and secure to the towers with bolts.
The crossbars mount to the RidgeLine towers with the included torque tool. The tool clicks 3 times once you've reached the correct amount of torque so you don't have to worry about over- or under-tightening. This is the only tool you will need to secure the bars to the towers and the towers to your roof.
Secure Installation with DropHook System
The towers install with custom-fit RidgeClips (sold separately). Simply remove the covers and attach the RidgeClips to the hooks inside the tower assemblies. Then place the towers on your flush rails and tighten the clips with the included torque tool. The clips tighten at the same time on the inside and outside of your rails to ensure an even, secure grip.
Each tower's pitch can be adjusted up to 6 degrees forward or backward during installation. This lets you create a level mounting surface for your gear even on a curved roof. To adjust the pitch, simply loosen the bolt near the top of the tower assembly, adjust the position of the bar, and then re-tighten the bolt.
The toe angle of each tower adjusts automatically - up to 10 degrees side to side depending on the shape of your rails - during installation. This ensures that the rack is seated correctly and securely on your flush rails.
Same Key System Locks
RidgeLine towers are compatible with Yakima SKS lock cores (Y07204 - sold separately) that allow you to secure the roof rack to your roof. The SKS locks are all keyed alike so a single key opens all the locks. The locks can also be swapped out to make all of your Yakima products keyed alike.

Placed the order for the rack a year ago. I didn’t like the way it sat on the roof of my vehicle, but because I had already installed it, etrailer customer service refused to take it back. I would’ve gladly paid for the return shipping or some sort of restocking fee, but that wasn’t an option. I’ve had brand new rack and hardware sitting in their original boxes for a year.
Received this Yakima roof rack system for my flush-rail 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature on Thursday, and installed it on Friday.
It’s not the simplest installation I’ve encountered, and I’d had a number of Thule products before. I found the installation “picto-grams” not that helpful. Also the 3.5 newton-meter torque screwdriver provide would not “click”.
It looks great on the Mazda, but took about 4 hours to install - getting the clips in place was an issue ; I got the outer to clip on, only to find the inner had come off its attachment clips- very frustrating.
With exception of getting wrong towers (crossbar vs streamline), installation was fairly painless. Pay attention to measurements during install! Looking forward to the Yakima 16 to be fitted shortly and then ROAD-TRIPPING.

Because of the 'rona-induced supply chain interruptions, I was unable to purchase all of my Yakima components from etrailer, but I did get these, and they are typically excellent Yakima components. Well-made, easy to install, good directions, no problems.

I bought both the roof rack and the cage from etrailer! Put everything on myself...easy peasy!
Great secure product though some written instructions on their setup and installation would be helpful.
Of all of the many racks I’ve purchased over the years, this, by far, is the worst. Once installed, it is okay, but installing these towers is extremely frustrating. The front and back “clips” fall out requiring multiple attempts. When I contacted Yakima customer support, they acknowledged that they have received complaints about the product. Their solution was to just leave the racks on the car. I asked to be notified when a better product was available but a year later I’ve received no response. If this is the only option available for your vehicle (as it was for mine), then prepare to be frustrated. Otherwise, purchase a different product.
I loved how easy these towers were to install. Took less than 30 mins total. They look nice and feel very sturdy. I am looking forward to loading the Kayaks up and getting out on the water next weekend.
I chose the Yakima roof rack, because It spanned 50 inches, rather than the leading competitor's 47 inches, making it better for tying down 4 ft x 8 ft sheets of building material. It also seemed to be about half the price. It took me about 2 hours to put it all together and mount it on my car. The instructions were all visual and there was one little pic I didn't understand, but the equipment seemed to go together correctly anyway. Now that it's adjusted, it should be fairly easy to remove and replace next time. I did need to put on super tacky gloves to get the covers off. Although it seemed unnecessarily complicated, I would still choose this product again.

1 year later and still love my Yakima JetStream system. I've mostly used them to transport my kayak however I've also been able to transport some big box store items as well. They are very versatile. There is a t-track option as well as wrap around attachments. I've use ladder attachments, eyebolts, and Thule Hullavator in t-track. I've used Malone MegaWing and Yakima Skybox as wrap around attachment. What I really like about the t-track system is that you do not need to cut out the rubber track insert. You simply slide over the rubber, which allows you to adjust your system, on the fly, to load what you need to carry.
It's a great roof rack, but the paint is getting all scratched off...probably from sliding kayaks up onto it. I hope it doesn't rust. So far no signs of that.
I bought these Yakima racks for my 2020 Palisade and the deciding factor for me was the installation video provided by etrailer. It proved as helpful as I’d hoped and now I’m trying to decide which accessories to add. Thank you etrailer!
I needed crossbars for my new 2018 Mazda CX5, which came with flush side rails. The RidgeLine Towers for the Yakima crossbars, along with the vehicle specific kit worked great. The installation (10-15 min) is super easy. They look cool, and performed great (I strapped 160-lbs rooftop tent on them!). Removing them is also super easy (10 min tops). Highly recommend.
The racks fit well and secure on 2021 Palisade. A little cumbersome to assemble but a little patients goes a long way. Also 4 pieces were robbed from one box.
The people at etrailer made it right by sending the lost part ASAP.

The Yakima roof rack system for my 2019 CX9 with flush mounted rails worked out great, and etrailer customer service was excellent. My first choice was to purchase the Thule system but after digging deeper, I realized that the Yakima was much easier to install. Changing my mind to Yakima was very easy even though the Thule system was almost ready to ship. One suggestion that I think will help with the installation. Add some blue masking tape to the backside of the inner ridge fit clip to temporarily hold it in place. Once secured, the tape can be removed.
This Yakima rack system for my 2017 Kia Sedona works great and are rock solid. I have two Kayaks I take to the lake, river, and beach house for vacations. Dena was extremely helpful and kept me up to date on everything. It’s very seldom to find a company with reps that actually care about the customer!!!! Please keep this going! The shipping was fast and easy and I had them installed within an hour in this Georgia heat! The only thing missing was the etrailer stickers......... ;p I would definitely recommend this product from etrailer for any of you rack needs!!!
Parts fit perfectly. I was able to pull the cross bars and rack from my 2016 Smart car and install them on my 2015 Mini Cooper with ZERO issues. E Trailer had everything I needed and easy to figure out. Happy as can be!

Still working out great. These racks got a lot thrown at them in winter 20222023, as we had record snow in California, which led to a lot of snowy trips to the mountains. Still look and work like new!
