Recommended Bike Rack for 2014 Mini Cooper S 2-Door Hardtop Hatchback

Do you have any recommendation for a 2-bike receiver/hitch for my 2014 Mini Cooper S Hardtop Hatchback 2-door? Im looking to install the Kuat 2-Bike Rack. Thanks.

I have a solution for transporting your bikes but it does not involve a hitch or a hitch mounted bike rack like the Kuat NV you were looking at.

According to our manufactures there is no hitch that will fit your vehicle, but there are roof racks. Getting a roof rack setup will allow you to install a roof mounted bike rack and bike. You will want to check your owners manual for any weight restrictions your roof may have.

Yakima offers a roof rack for your vehicle, if you have the flush mounted side rails, the items you will need to make the full system are: # Y00425, # Y00145, and # Y06009.

If you don't have the flush mounted side rails then the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack - Vacuum Cup Mount - 48" Long # 298-SX6000 will work well for you. These cups are rated for 210 lbs pull strength each so they will be able to handle the 165 lb cargo capacity without any issues. I've attached a video to assist.

I have linked all the roof mounted bike racks to this page for your convenience, one of my favorites is the Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103, because of its light weight design and avoids contact with the frame of the bike.
