Swagman Race Ready Adjustable Wheel Cradles

The Race Ready lets you transport 1 bike on your roof rack crossbars. This rack has an upright arm with a locking, adjustable clamp that holds your bike securely by the front wheel and a wheel cage that stabilizes the front wheel during transport. It secures your front and rear wheels with ratcheting straps that slide along the wheel tray to accommodate bikes of different lengths. It clamps to most crossbars, and the upright arm folds down for storage when not in use.

Padded, Ratcheting Hook

Swagman Race Ready Adjustable Upright Arm

The ratcheting hook on the upright arm holds your bike firmly by the front wheel - no frame contact. The padded hook won't scratch or scuff the tire, and the built-in lock secures the bike to the rack.

Wheel Cage

Swagman Race Ready Wheel Cage

It includes a wheel cage that stabilizes the front wheel to prevent shifting during transport.

Folding Design

Swagman Race Ready Upright Arm Folds Down

Both the upright arm and the wheel cage fold down when not in use. This improves overhead clearance so it's easier to park in your garage with the rack installed.

Sliding Wheel Straps

Swagman Race Ready Sliding Wheel Straps

The sliding wheel straps let you quickly secure your front and rear wheels to the carrier. These straps slide along the wheel tray so that you can carry bikes of different lengths.

Easy, Clamp-On Installation

Swagman Race Ready Adjustable Upright Arm

The Race Ready clamps easily to most crossbars - no tools required. Remove the hand knobs and lower clamps on the front and rear crossbar mounts, position the rack on your crossbars, then replace clamps and tighten the hand knobs.

I am satisfied with the product except the bolts that attract the Swagman roof bike rack to Rhino-Rack VA 2500 Crossbars because the bolts are too short and the spare bolts provided are not enough. I had to go to Home Depot to get the similar bolts to replace all original bolts. Overall, I really love this Swagman Roof bike rack. I already test drive on freeway at speed 65 mph and everything is good and smooth when I checked after I got off from freeway in parking lot. Everything is perfect as advertising. See picture attached from my 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5L V6 SE Sedan.

Hey Justin, I see that you purchased the Curt roof rack part # C18118 with this bike rack. I was not able to find any reason why they wouldnt be compatible. I am curious and ready to help if you can provide more information.

by:

After a year of having this bike rack and countless uses, I’d highly recommend it. This rack is sturdy and reliable. My only complaint is that one of my ratcheting straps has worn a bit. Otherwise this bike rack is 100% perfect.

by:

Rack works well and is very dependable, even for long trips. However, using it for a fat bike has the disadvantage of lifting a bike that heavy onto my wife’s SUV roof.

by:

Arrived on time. Item received in good condition.

I have purchased several items from etrailer and have never been disappointed. Service is fast and efficient, and the employees -- especially Sal -- have gone out of their way to be helpful. I recently purchased a new 2016 Mazda 3, and the first item I purchased for it from e-trailer was a set of tire chains. Sal suggested Konig CA12 chains, which are easy to install and work perfectly. Later in the year, I wanted an easy-on, easy-off roof rack to car-top our kayaks, and Yakama towers and landing pads were suggested. I am very satisfied with them, as they have indeed proven to be very easy-on, easy-off. My only problem is with one of the tower locking mechanisms, which comes off while tightening it (see enlarged photo); however, it is a minor problem with Yakama, not etrailer.

by:

The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. The Yakima roof rack is solid and provides me the peace of mind while hauling my bike on the roof of my car. etrailer provided the product for the best price as always.

by:

So this is why I chose the Yakima, was for these towers. I had previously installed the Thule rack on our '16 Explorer, The Thule looked very factory but removal while not in use was not really an option. So this time for my wifes '18 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I went with the Yakima. While the rack is not in use, the rack and the 4 towers can all be easily removed in in 60 seconds leaving only the small landing pads on the roof rails and they are only slightly noticeable. The only issue I have with the pads is the fit and finish were they intersect with the factory support. You can clearly see in the pictures they do not sit flush with the rails.
Overall though I am very pleased with the assembly as a whole and would recommend this over the Thule rack.

by:

We purchased the Yakima Skyline Towers roof rack with the Jet Stream crossbars. Took about 2 hours to install on the naked roof of our Flex. I drilled through the roof strip for the mounting bolts and they fit tighter than the factory rails. Very happy with our choice.

by:

I bought these products to install on my 2016 Ford Flex. I do not have the factory roof rails, and wanted a system that would install directly to the roof channels and not the door frame. Contrary to what the etrailer.com "expert" suggested, this product does just that. I ended up ignoring the "expert's" advice and ordered this. It installed perfectly and I am very happy with the result and the product.

by:

Very happy with our purchase. We appreciated that etrailer offered real time delivery options as the racks were large and couldn't be left at our mailbox. I love how easily you can remove the entire rack easily. Too bad the locking mechanism comes separately but we are still happy with what we received.

by:

These new landing pads fit and work great, allowing me to attach skyline towers to my Rav4.

by:

They fit perfectlly and solidly on my 2021 Toyota Highlander. The instructions are clear and entirely accurate.

by:

First trip with the new rail system and it looks like it worked out just fine. Thanks to both of you and Kimberly for all of your help and follow up I do appreciate it.

by:

Works great - these are very clever and easy to install on the Jeep.
Great service from etrailer!
Thanks!

by:

These towers (Y00148) and the Landing Pads (Y00244) are needed to mount the cross-bars on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep has flush rails, with an open channel along the top.

They are very heavy duty, typical of Yakima stuff.

Worked great.

by:

My experience with etrailer has been excellent. There was going to be a potential delay in one of the products, but their customer service promptly informed me, half the price of some of their competitors so can't really complain. In the end they got the part ahead of schedule and was able to ship in a timely manner. I will definitely keep them in mind for future purchases.

by:

I am going to include the Landing Pads, Skyline Towers, LockNLoad adapters, and Pivoting Mounts that are all required for my vehicle in this review of the 84" x 54" LockNLoad Platform. First, I had done months of research trying to figure out what would work and meet my needs for a 2008 GMC Yukon XL. Without the help of etrailer's agent, Ashley, I'd probably still be trying to figure things out! Ashley was patient and thorough, she made sure I had all the parts I needed for a fairly complex (and large!)project. I cannot thank her enough!
On to the assembly and installation: Ashley confirmed that following instructions was key to efficient building - I found that combining online instructions with the included hard copies worked best. As an example, the online fastener images and descriptions are far better than the paper ones. Then, having the paper instructions in hand made "in the moment" progress much faster. All of the Yakima parts fit together perfectly, and by methodically following the instructions (I cannot stress this enough!), including pre assembling Landing Pads, Towers, and Pivoting Mounts, there was no need to backtrack. Once I had a day to devote to the project, everything went very smoothly. Placing the large Platform on the mounts does require two people, but the rest was easy for one fairly handy person to accomplish. Making adjustments to be sure the Platform is centered and square to the roof took some time but it's worth it in the end. Again, thanks to etrailer and particularly Ashley! It was a pleasure doing business with you!

by:

This rating is not related to the actual product. The Towers work as advertised - 5 stars, its the mounting of the Towers themselves that I am rating.

Even with helpful videos etrailer has on their site, this was the hardest part of the assembly to add the roof rack I bought.

Sadly, it took several hours and trial and error to get these to work. Now that they are on, they work great. Almost gave up on using the roof rack based on how difficult these were to get onto the cross bars and then on to the vehicle. Lots of cursing. I probably should have made a "how not to" video so people could watch and do the opposite of what I was doing. The videos I watched didn't match my experience. Their experience shows as in the videos 1-2-3-4 all done! I struggled mightily thru all 4 steps.

by:

SR7095 installation was a breeze for two people. Initially, I was setting it up solo and it was a bit challenging. Otherwise, OMG, tons of space. Best buy for the buck. Definitely would recommend to all if space is your concern.

  • Is The Older Thule 1050-09 Bike Rack Compatible With Factory Crossbars?
The older Thule 1050-09 bike rack is specifically for square bars and there are not any adapters to allow fitment onto your factory crossbars. I did some research and a lot of people have used various sizes of U-bolts from local hardware stores to allow fitment to factory roof racks and aero crossbars. While this may work, it is not technically recommended since that is not the way this bike rack was designed to be mounted. Your best option is to look into a new bike rack such as the Swagman...

The Thule OutWay Platform Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Adjustable Trays # TH65JV has been used on similar vehicles and may work for your 2021 Mercedes GLE 53 coupe, however, it has not been confirmed to fit your vehicle so I do not recommend using it at this point in time. • Can the Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack Be Secured to the Crossbars
The Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack part # S64705 does allow you to lock the bike to the rack but not the rack to the vehicle. The Curt # C11329 is indeed a fit for your 2009 Lincoln MKZ. This would work great for you. You can use an adapter like # HTAD, but there's 2 problems with doing that. Both the hitch and bike rack manufacturers state that no more than 2 bikes should be carried in a bike rack used in a Class I hitch.
