How to Carry 5 Bikes With 2016 Subaru Outback That Has OEM Factory Trailer Hitch Receiver

Hello, I have a 2016 Subaru outback with 1.25 inch OEM dealer-installed hitch receiver. Is the Yakima Ridgeback 5-bike rack compatible with this? Or the Thule Apex XT5 5-bike rack? Best regards

So the factory trailer hitch on a 2016 Subaru Outback is a Class I hitch, and because of that, it is only capable of hauling a maximum of 2 bikes on a rack. In order to carry 5 bikes with your '16 Outback, you'll need to carry two bikes with a hitch rack and three more on the roof. So for a hitch rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2-Bike Rack # S63360.
If you are carrying bikes with a step-through frame or a small child's bike you'll also need Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005.
Then if you don't have a roof rack a great option that fits your 2016 Outback is the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG216.
And for roof-mounted bike racks I recommend the Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount # S64705.
