So far, so good. Took about a minute to run through it's diagnostics, then all good to go.
Bought this because the last army corp campground we stayed at, had problems with the power going on and off.
Will feel a little more protected now.

Works great, and with the 30 amp adapter, can use it with 30 or 50.

by:

The CAM55306 looks well made. Received the item in a couple days plugged it in and in a couple minutes camper powered up. Every thing's working fine. While away from the camper had power outage everything came back on no problems. One less thing to worry about. Thanks for a great product at a better price than competition.

by:

Great product for RV protection. Gives you a piece of mind knowing that your rv has this electrical protection

by:

Yes I would purchase again. It's comforting knowing I don't have to worry about surges to my RV. For me it's no problem but it could be a little heavy and cumbersome for some older folks. I devised my own cable locking system to the elect. box just incase Im in a park where I don't trust everyone. This is such a nice item to have someone else may want it more than me.

Still working great, would purchase again.

by:

Put the product to work the weekend after receiving it in the mail from etrailer. Worked immediately to protect our electrical system. Only saw the green light during our stay in the RV resort but having it gives me peace of mind.

Still working fine protecting our electrical system. Also have found the loops on the handles make it easy to cable lock my power cord and the voltage protector to the RV site power box.

by:

i have not had the chance to use the product yet but etrailer got it to me very quick. 2 days. very easy web site to order from. Great customer service with followup emails letting me know it shipped and follow up for product satisfaction.

I have had no issues with our surge protector. we leave our camper plugged up full time and to my knowledge we have not had any issues with power. we are not in the camper full time but use it on most weekends.

by:

The Camco RV Power defender has worked well for me over the last year of ownership and full-time RVing. On the exterior: generally it’s held up well, but has shown some wear.

Pros:
It has caught many low voltage situations where power has been unsteady.
It has brought a lot of piece of mind knowing the electrical system is protected.

Cons:
Slow to boot up on first plug in or after power issue detection.
Much larger than the competition.

Tip:
Since the unit is so large often it will be on the ground and not hanging vertical. Technically, it’s only water resistant if hanging vertically. Keep out of puddles and use a trash bag in rainy conditions to cover the unit in this situation.

by:

I have had this for about a year now. I RV quite often and this surge protector is awesome. I have a 42' 5th wheel 2019 and as you know loaded with electronics. We have had a few occasions where the protector absolutely saved us. When there is an issue it powers down then reboots slowly to prevent a surge. Highly recommend it.

by:

Did a lot of research on this product. Will work well with my new RV. Solid production and craftmanship. Worth the costs.

Excellent product, highly recommend

DELIVERED JUST AS PROMISED!

by:

Excellent product. Simple to use. Very quickly runs through voltage checks. Provides peace of mind that camper electronics will not be fried.

Product is trouble free with no issues. It was tested when power went out during a thunder storm. It worked as designed.

by:

So far so good you should always protect your RV from power surges but this takes it a step further so you can monitor your power. We have had power pedistial problems at 2 RV parks in the last year it's good to know before you connect your RV and possibly cause any damage.

by:

I’ve been using this product for the past 2 months in various campgrounds and RV parks. I like that it analyzes the incoming current before connecting the RV and I have confidence that my electrical system protected.

by:

Purchased this after first purchasing a surge protector that only protected against surge not low voltage.
Works well at this time!

by:

This is my 4th or 5th experience with etrailer and they have yet to disappoint. Not much to evaluate on the 50 amp surge protector. I did find there is a delay while it searches for faults. Seemed to be about 2 minutes before the air came on in the motor home but its not even an issue. Works fine though I haven't had a surge so ill assume all is well.

by:

Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector gives me peace of mind when we are traveling the country and etrailer is the BEST online company to do business with.

by:

The only place I have used this product is at my home. I plugged it into my 50 amp service that I had run to check the circuit as well as to see if it worked. After a few seconds it showed all was good. We are fixing to go on back to back camping trips in a couple of weeks so I will give it a good work out then.

by:

After almost burning out the wiring in my new RV at a camp site. I purchased this item and feel very comfortable in the protection it provides me.

by:

I knew I had to have a surge protector. The functions on this covered all my wants. I've only used it at the house so far. Time will tell on the actual quality.
It seems well made.

by:

I have had refrigerator trouble I was told it was voltage surges shutting down my refrigerator. that's why I bought the defender . usually the plugins are not always wired correctly at the parks,

by:

OUTSTANDING! Don't waste your time with thise cheap power strips. It gives me the best peace of mind when connecting at a RV park. A must have.

by:

I haven't had a chance to use this yet but it seems to be a well built product. I like the large pull handles to assist in unplugging.

by:

Yes, it took about 140 seconds to provide power to the Motorhome after the diagnostic routine. Great service from Danny T. Thank you,

BJ

by:

I used this product for 20 weeks last year without any issues - I made connection is some 40 different sites. I feel well protected with this product

Mr A.

4/24/2019

Yes - the device is working well - just finished a 4 week trip visiting 4 different campgrounds. The only issue is waiting after you plug it in for it to do its necessary checks before giving the green light. I feel good with the protection

by:

Extremely fast service, product came packaged excellently and is just what I needed, would highly recommend etrailer.

  • Connecting 50 Amp RV to 15 Amp Outlet At Storage Facility for Keeping Batteries Charged
For your particular setup, starting at the RV's 50 amp plug, I recommend the Camco RV 50 Amp Voltage Protector # CAM55306 followed by a power adapter cord like the Mighty Cord # A10-1550D90VP that will plug into the surge protector and give you a 15 amp male plug on the other end. Then from there you will just need an extension cord like the 25 foot # A10-2514E that will reach to the shore power hookup at the storage facility. This extension uses 14 gauge wire so that would be my recommendation...

  • What Voltage Protector Should be Used on Trailer with 50 amp Plug Using 30 amp Plug Adapter
If your trailer is rated for 50 amp service then that's what the appliances are rated for as well. The idea is to protect them and since they would be drawing up to 50 amps the 30 amp protector would potentially cause problems. For that you would want the part # CAM55306.

  • Comparing the Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer and Voltage Protector
The Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer part # CAM55313 and Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector part # CAM55306 are similar in that they both work to protect the trailer from power surges and have diagnostic lights to help with troubleshooting. However, the Voltage Protector goes a bit beyond this as the voltage detection system is much more sophisticated sensing both high and low voltages in addition to surges. The Circuit Analyzer can only detects power surges, not high and...

  • Are Multiple Surge Protectors Necessary
Multiple surge protectors such as the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector # CAM55301 are not needed. Though we do not carry the Progressive protectors, if you are using a voltage protector like the # CAM55301 for 30 amp or # CAM55306 for 50 amp then there is no reason to add another protector.

  • Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector - 50 Amp Showing Open Neutral When Plugged Into Generator
If you are connecting the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector - 50 Amp, # CAM55306, directly to the generator and getting an "Open Neutral" fault when then connecting to RV you most likely have an issue either with the generator outlet the cord running to your RV. I recommend inspecting the outlet, and the RV's power cord for damage, wear or loose connections.

  • What Type of Faults Will the Camco RV Voltage Monitor Detect?
The Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Monitor # CAM55306 will show faults for reverse polarity as well as ground faults. It is going to going to detect faults for numerous power pedestal issues, and diagnostic lights will alert you should faults occur. It's most important function may be that it automatically disconnects when voltage levels get to dangerous levels and re-stabilize when the volts have a range between 102 and 132. • What is the Correct Voltage Monitor to Use on 2007 Winnebago?
The right voltage monitor is going to depend on which service you use. You said you "can" use 30 amp service, and if that is what you do then you'll want to use the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Monitor - 30 Amp # CAM55301. If you use 50 amp service then the appropriate voltage monitor is the 50 amp # CAM55301. Essentially, you will simply need to use the monitor equivalent to the service you are using. I've attached links to video reviews of both parts for you to take a look at.

  • Troubleshooting Open Neutral Reading Only When Air Conditioner Is Running
The Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector - 50 Amp # CAM55306 is reading correct when you are in basic use. So we know the shore power is not the issue. We know that AC units do pull a lot of power, so the momentary open neutral wouldn't be a concern but if it says that way the entire time you are running your AC, I would have the wiring looked at to confirm you are safe in its use.

  • Differences Between Camco Circuit Analyzers and Power Defenders
You are correct. The 30 Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector # CAM55301 is like a circuit breaker and automatically resets if there's a surge whereas the 50 amp Circuit Analyzer part # CAM55313 is like a fuse and it only can handle one surge. • Recommended Surge Protector for 50 Amp 5th Wheel Trailer Connection to Shore Power
For your 50 amp system, you will want the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Monitor - 50 Amp # CAM55306. This voltage monitor disconnects when dangerous voltage levels are detected and then reconnects when it stabilizes. This is much better than the cheap surge protectors that need replacing and are only good for one surge and then leave you disconnected or vulnerable. A 50 amp surge protector like the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Monitor - 50 Amp, # CAM55306, can be used but it will not not provide the level of protection that you need for your motorhome with 30 amp service.
