Troubleshooting Camco 50A Power Defender Not Allowing Power to Go Through

Question:

I have a Camco power defender 50 amp. I noticed that when I plug it in the blue lights on the left light up, but nothing on the right. It does not allow power to the RV either. Any suggestions? Thanks I’m advance.

I reached out to my contact at Camco who said that if you didn't give the Camco RV Power Defender # CAM55306 2 minutes to run through diagnostics after plugging it into the power source then that would cause the lights to act like what you described. If you plug it in and let it sit for at least 2 minutes it should then either give you one of the different light indicators and/or will work properly.

If this doesn't solve your problem let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.

Jon, I have the same issue, waited and tried several times. Direct plug into the RV works but not through Defender. I've just come home from a week and a half of using it with no problems but when I tried to plug it in at home just the two blue lights. Thoughts?

@JoeS You don't have any other lights lit up? Just two blue lights?

@JoeS I've tried reaching out to Camco but haven't heard back from them yet. The only thing I can think of is that the Power Defender is taking longer than normal to run through the diagnostics. I would try testing this out at a different power outlet to see if you can produce the same results, and if you still see issues I'd try to take advantage of the 1-Year Warranty that this is backed by.
