Recommended Surge Protector for 50 Amp 5th Wheel Trailer Connection to Shore Power
Question:
I realize that the #CAM55025 will not work if GFCI is in place. Most campgrounds use this. So what is the answer to my original question considering the inability to use #CAM55025?

For your 50 amp system, you will want the Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Monitor - 50 Amp # CAM55306. This voltage monitor disconnects when dangerous voltage levels are detected and then reconnects when it stabilizes. This is much better than the cheap surge protectors that need replacing and are only good for one surge and then leave you disconnected or vulnerable. You won't need a different surge protector for your 50 amp RV wiring.
For sites that won't have a 50 amp service, I recommend using the Power Grip RV Power Maximizer - 50 Amp Female to 15 Amp Male and 30 Amp Male # CAM55025 to give you 45 amps when available. This will plug into your shore power and then you will add your surge protector and then your power cord to your RV like # A10-5025ED.
