Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Global Link Ultra M Pro Travel Trailer Lock. This is a nice full-sized RV door lock handle, which is easier to grip than some of the standard sized locks that are out there. This one does also use an integrated deadbolt system, provides added security, and just to show you how this operates, I wanna zoom in to show you, it does come with the two keys. So basically right now it's unlocked, so you can pull that from the outside if you pull this handle. Just like that, that'll open the door, you can see it unlatches it, and on the inside, same way, if you pull this handle it'll unlatch it.
If you just wanna lock the door from the outside, if you put a key in there, and turn it that way, remove the key, that'll lock the outside or the exterior handle, but if you'll noticed, the interior handle will still operate, and then you can just unlock it, so you can use the key to unlock it, then you can use it outside again. At the very bottom here, if we put our key in, and then if we turn it all the way that way and remove it, that'll set the deadbolt, you can see that it's locked from here, and it's even locked on the inside, and this is the handle that you can operate that deadbolt with, if you push it down it'll unlock it, both inside and outside, and again, if it goes back into lock position, and again, you can use the key outside to put it in there. Also what's nice, this does offer an interior safety release for an emergency exit. If by chance that's in the deadbolt position, you can just slide the spring loaded lever over right here, and that'll allow you in the inside to release it. Right now it's locked again, if you slide that lever over, it'll give you an emergency release.
Now, this does offer a keyed alike option, the lock can be keyed alike to match other Global Link locks, and to order a keyed alike, you just select the keyed alike option from the drop-down menu on the product page, and then enter the number of locks in the quantity box. This is a very easy installation, has the same installation cutout dimensions as a standard travel trailer lock, 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 inches. It does come with everything shown here on the table, includes the lock handle, the two keys, the door plate, the striker plate, and the hardware for installation. I bought two of these, and they worked fine at first, but a year later, they are almost impossible to open at times.
It takes a a cryptic action to unlatch the door - slide the handle sideways, push on the pivot side, then rotate the lock side outward. I've given up locking these because nobody else can open them anyhow. My son destroyed one the entry doors trying to get the handle to open.
It's not an issue with the striker or placement within the door, it is a matter of the internals won't unlock the deadbolt. It seems that the problem may be temperature dependent, but I haven't pinned down the problem fully.
I am ordering normal handles to replace these.
My wife has severe arthritis and I always open the door for her with the door latch that come with the 5er. NOW she's able to open the door because she able to grip the handle very easy. Thanks

I wish I could find a real deadbolt style for our camper, We had a 2003 Fleetwood, it had a very nice deadbolt combo lock. The 2021 Lance we just purchased, didn't come with one. Good service from you guy's though. Is there such a deadbolt available for this application?

The deadbolt options we have are the Valterra Deadbolt Lock for RVs - Single Cylinder - Stainless Steel - 58 Throw Part # L32CS3008 and Valterra Deadbolt Lock for RVs - Single Cylinder - Stainless Steel - 1 Throw Part # L32CS3108.
Seems well made and fit well as a replacement. It was disappointing that I could not have this keyed-alike with the cylinder locks I ordered. The etrailer product description said I could, but the automated ordering process would not permit it. Receiving the product, I see that all the locks use identical key blanks and the packaging says that all the locks can be keyed alike. Puzzling and disappointing.

This is a great easy to install replacement. The angle or leverage of this handle makes it easy to open.
Wife has RA in her hands. This unit solved her problem of easy opening. We like it.
This looks like a great product. It is well made,and has worked well so far, a couple of days. The only problem is that the lock arrived with no instructions. I have some experience with lock installation, but someone with no experience would need some guidance from E-trailer.
Easy install. Bought for 20 year old daughter and she had zero issues installing upgraded locking handle.
Just received my replacement door lock feels very sturdy and well built easy to install and looks great only downside is it doesn't have a separate deadbolt.
