Video Transcript for Empire Faucets RV Bar Faucet Review and Installation

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the empire faucets, RV bar faucet. This is a dual teacup cup handle design in a brush nickel finish. Now, this is also available in Chrome. Now you may ask, what makes this a bar faucet And you can see compared to our original one here, this style here allows you to be able to put a glass underneath this.

It's also nice for taller people. As I like this, I don't actually have to reach down to get my hands under it. It's right there where I need it. If you had a bar in your camper, this is a great option. I like it here in the bathroom, just because of those reasons, being that it is a little bit tall and I can also get a drinking glass in here when I'm brushing my teeth.

I can rinse my mouth out pretty easily. And this is a nice, easy replacement. If you're updating and you want just a nicer look. Or you want to gain that little extra height. Or replace your damaged faucet from that you had previously, this is going to be a great option for you.

These dual teacup handles have a really nice feel tub. They have a little bit of heft tub giving them a little bit more of a quality feel. You also have this gooseneck style faucet that you can actually rotate out of the way. Now it is a little tricky to get that to move, but I kind of liked that you're not going to accidentally bump this around and have water spraying everywhere. You actually have to give it a little bit of force.

And overall, this has a really nice feel to it. And installation is super easy. Now these handles are a quarter-turn cartridge stem. So that's going to allow you to actually fully shut it off and turn it on pretty easily. You have your hot and your cold separate, which is kind of nice. And also these are going to be a washer list design. So that's going to take a lot of friction away, and it also is going to last a little bit longer with that washer list design. And these are going to be pretty standard for your RV as far as the size. So it should swap out with your previous faucet pretty simple. And I'm going to show you how to do that. So let's head to that installation. To begin our installation, we're going to go ahead and remove our old faucets. You're going to want to make sure that you're not hooked up to water and you're going to want to open this up and let everything kind of drain out. That way, you're not having to deal with a bunch of water when unhooking. Now it's pretty easy from here. We're just going to get access to it underneath it. Now it might be a tight fit, but you're going to kind of feel it with your hands. Like I said, there's slots on it for it to be pretty easy. This time weren't terribly tight, so go ahead and get these loose. So taking those locking plates off is going to get this to where it's going to be able to move now in order to actually detach it, though, there is the hookup lines for the actual plumbing, and those are also going to be a threaded collar. You're just going to want to unspin those and it should separate. So following these PEX lines up, you can see that white collar, that's where you're actually going to unthread it. Now you might want to have either a trashcan or a bucket or something just in case there's residual water, you can collect that rather than it going on the floor of your camper. So this is what it looks like. Again, you have plenty of grip here to be able to just twist this off. If it is tight, you can put it just a small wrench on it and try to get that first little bit, but the rest should be just hand tightened on. So go ahead and get both of those removed. So now let's get these lock-in colors off by simply turning this counter-clockwise and these will thread off of that plastic plumbing shank that's on the sink. There is one, and then we'll get this next one here. So you usually have these locking colors here on both side. And once those are loosened up, your sink should come out. Now, sometimes people have used cork or whatever it may be. So you might have to take, use a putty knife and kind of run it along the edge to break the seal, but this should come out pretty easily. That was a good opportunity to clean this area up as it's gotten just some gunk buildup over time, and this is also gonna make a nice clean seal or a seat for the new faucet to go into place. So just with a little bit of ice of profile alcohol and rag, this comes up pretty easily. And if you do have residual cork, I suggest also, taking a putty knife and giving that up as well. So now we are going to take our new empire faucet heater, and we'll take these little walk-in collars off. So now we're going to drop this in place. You're going to see this plate is separate. So make sure that it's seated properly. You can also actually put a little bit of cork here. If you want to create a nice watertight seal that is up to you. Plumbers, putty works as well. So we'll put that in place. And then we're going to go back underneath and thread these on. Now, we don't want to tighten it yet because we want to make sure that this is centered exactly how we want. As you can see, there is a little bit of room here and that way you can custom tailor it to how you want it to set up. So have these pretty close to tighten down, and then you're going to want to check the orientation of your sink. See where you're exactly where you want it. And then from there, just take your thumb and push those until they are tight. Now you don't have to crank these down too terribly hard. Just a little bit of tension should keep that sink in place. So you might want to wiggle the faucet just to make sure it's seated, right Tighten it down, and then that will be good to go. I'm going to move this forward about there. That looks centered. So now I can simply get that last little bit tightened Now those tightened, I can see this faucet is nice and sturdy, now right up on the sink. So now let's get our plumbing hooked up. So just like removing it, this is going to thread on, make sure that it is seated properly. You don't want to cross thread these. And then once you have that nice thread, just kind of tighten these up until you can't tighten them anymore. Now, again, this is just hand tight. You don't need to put a, A plumbing wrench or anything like that on there. Now also important to make sure that you kind of kept note of where your lines run. That way your hot side is running to where your hot side is and your cold is on the cold. Can easily to get them kind of mixed up, but if you need to swap them, if you do it wrong and you can simply just unthread and reattach. Having PEX lines made it really easy to denote, which one was hot and cold, as you can see the red and blue. So ours was easy to keep in line, but if you just have rated fittings, you might want to just throw a tag on there, whether it be a sticker, what not just to keep those kind of aligned with the actual temperature that you're gonna be hooking up to the faucet. So now that we have it all hooked up, all is left to do is hook it up to actual water and test out our faucet. Make sure that we don't have any leaks underneath. Now, if you do have any leaks coming from those fittings, you're going to want to go back, shut the water off, and re-thread those on. Make sure that they're nice and secure. You might have to tighten them down, but once you have no leaks, you're ready to use your faucet. And that was a look at the empire faucets RV bar faucet. It's a dual teacup handles style and brushed nickel and Chrome finish..

Replacing a faucet is NEVER an easy task, and the tight space in an RV is even more challenging.
With that said, taking everything else into consideration, installing your product was NOT the difficult one I thought it would be.
We've only used it for one season, but see no problem with it lasting longer than the original.
