Hey everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the magnetic door holders by Bauer Products. These are gonna be great for your basement doors, or for your storage doors on your campers. And if we compare them to like your typical shocks that you have, they only allow you to open your door about halfway to maybe three-quarters of the way. With adding the magnets on, it allows us to open our doors pretty much flat up against our wall to give us plenty of space.

Now, if we compare them to, let's say, we don't have the shocks on, and we have the latches like this that would hold your doors up. The problem with these are that you still got a lot of movement in there. So let's say the wind blows. Now we have our door handle banging up against the side of our camper. But these are also plastic, so these tend to break quite a bit.

When you get into those cooler conditions, this plastic can get brittle, and again, they start falling apart. Magnetic, or the magnets, these are gonna be glass-filled nylon, so they're gonna hold up in extreme conditions. You don't have to worry about them breaking. They're gonna hold 10 pounds each. And if you double them, so if you have a negative and a positive, you double that.

You can get them in a couple of different ways. You can do it how we did it here. Since we had the slam latches which a lot of the newer campers are coming out with them, if you had to slam latches, it's gonna require a negative and a positive. If you don't have slam latches, there are kits that have the striker plates, which the striker plate we just mount on the wall, or mount on your door and it's gonna work the same way. Because your magnet has somewhere to stick to.

Now we've gone over some of the features, let's walk you through how to get them installed. For your installation you determine where you're gonna put your magnet. We're gonna put it on the bottom of our door handle here. We'll center it. And then we'll take the two screws that come included and secure it to the door. We're using the negative and a positive. Insert two screws into the side that's gonna mount to your wall. Put them together. We'll rotate this up. And we're gonna push on the door a little bit. And then it puts two marks where your screws are gonna go. Once you get your second one put on, you're gonna repeat the process for any other door you're adding magnets too.
