Today we're going to be taking a look at the Camco RV Baggage Door Catches. These door catches hold your RV's baggage compartment door open, to make loading and unloading cargo easier. So once you have this installed on the exterior of your RV, all you gotta do is open that clip right there, open your compartment door, release this and it's going to hold your compartment door in the open position. Really nice, easy to use design. You're going to get two catches with this part number. The small and compact design makes them hardly noticeable when they're not be used. Very simple installation.
You could either use some double sided adhesive tape or some mounting screws to get it installed. The units do feature pre-drilled mount holes for an easier installation. Mounting hardware not included. The catches are made from a durable ABS plastic construction to withstand the elements. They're going to be Colonial White in color. A few measurements to go over with you real quick.
Overall length from edge to edge is about two and a half inches. Overall width at the widest point which is directly here at the center, that's going to be about one inch wide. Overall depth, that's how far it's going to stick out from the mounting surface, is only about three quarters of an inch deep. These mount holes right here are separated on center by 15/16th's of an inch, and they have a diameter of 3/16th's of an inch. these door catches work great! So easy to install. we replaced 6 damaged, very old ones and the new ones are doing wonderfully well.

Work as intended
We recently purchased a 2007 Forest River Wildwood camper which was in excellent shape. However on our first trip one of the baggage storage compartment door "hold open latches" broke. The original latch was a Camco brand and when I Googled it etrailer.com was the site that was first on the list. The original latch lasted eleven years so I was pleased to find that it was still available. The came in packs of two and I ordered two packs in order to have extras. A confirmation email followed promptly and I received the order several days later as promised. Great service and I would definitely recommend the product and company.
These have two screw holes and the ones on the camper have three. So the holes don't line up. I don't like drilling new holes but I understand you can't get exact parts sometimes.
These door catches are a perfect replacement for the originals that got brittle and broke. Now I won't have to hold the doors open with my shoulder while removing something from the cargo hatches. They were easy to install. I wish I had purchased them 2 years ago.
Original ones that came with camper had broken and these were the perfect replacement.
Easy replacement for old one and used the other to add a latch to my battery compartment door. Both work well.
