Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Furrion Chill HE Black Rooftop RV Air Conditioner System. It has 13,500 BTU cooling capacity. Now this is a high efficiency AC unit that will replace or let you add a new Furrion Chill air conditioner on your RV or camper. This is a Furrion Chill HE rooftop air conditioner. It is aerodynamically designed.
It's a mid-profile high efficiency air conditioner for your RV, and this air conditioner will quickly and efficiently cool the interior of your RV or camper. It uses a powerful high capacity compressor which will cool down your RV faster and it has a high energy efficiency ratio of 7:1 to deliver more BTUs per unit of power. To give you an idea of the size on this AC unit, the length of it from the very back to the front, it's 34 and 13/16 inches long. The width on this unit, side to side, is 27 and 9/16 inches wide. And the height, the tallest point is gonna be in the very back here.
So if we go from the bottom to the top it's gonna measure 13 and 9/16 inches tall. The weight of this unit is 76 pounds. Now this kit here will include everything I have laid out here on the table: the air conditioner, the air distribution box, the single zone control box, the wall thermostat right here, and then some mounting hardware and an instruction manual that will describe how this all goes together and how it operates. Now I do wanna remove the cover. I've taken off some screws.
This covers held on by a few screws, so I've removed those so we can just pop this cover right off. So once I get the cover off, we'll be able to go over some of the internal components. I'll go ahead and zoom in so you can see it better. But basically, this is a dual motor design. These dual motors allow the dual fans to move the cool air faster, quieter, and more efficiently than a single motor.
If you notice right here, the condenser fan is connected to a motor right here, and then the evaporator fan on this side also has a motor right here, and that dual motor design helps the air conditioner start easier. Also, what's nice on this unit it offers a soft start feature which means you don't have to add any extra start capacitor because it already includes one right over here in this box. The capacitor's on the inside there and that start capacitor offers an extra boost to help jump start your AC when a campsite or a generator doesn't provide enough power. This unit here, a 2200 watt generator will power it up. Also, it'll store energy that'll later be used for the next startup. Now the cover on this, let me just swing this back, zoom back out, and this cover that I've taken off, this is a nice UV resistant cover. This will help protect the internal components from water and debris. And if you notice on the inside they use this EPP foam housing which is water and chemical resistant. Also offers thermal insulation that'll regulate the temperature and prevent the motors from overheating. Now to talk about the other parts, we zoom into those. We mentioned the air distribution box which is this part right here. It has the two slotted registers, one on this end one on this end, and basically you can see you can close those all the way if you need be. They can be closed to divert more air to the ducts in the ducted system or you can push it open just like that. These will provide maximum airflow. Also, what's nice in is the parts they include with this is some EVA foam that'll add a nice seal between your RV ceiling and the air distribution box. When it's installed, it prevents leaks. The single zone controller right here, this part will let you control the temperature inside your RV. Offers a short cycle protection which ensures your RV reaches its temperature set point. Also has an automatic restart that'll restore most recent settings if there's a power interruption. The wall thermostat, you can see this one has a digital display that shows your settings. Offers you five different operation modes and three fan speeds to optimize temperature. And it also offers a sleep setting that keeps your RV cool at night while saving power and reducing noise. I'm gonna go ahead and put the cover back on it. We'll just drop the cover in place. And once we get that in place over there, and again, you just line this holes up and then put your screws back into secure it in place. Now this is a bolt-on installation. This is compatible with ducted or ductless systems. This will replace and work with your existing Furrion Chill AC setup. The mounting hardware to install this unit is not included. You would have to supply that. And as you can see, this unit is an all black color. They do also offer this with the white cover. That cover that I've taken off, you can get a unit that has a white cover. Those we sell separate on our website. A few specs on this, the electrical rating is 115 volt 60 hertz cooling capacity, 13,500 BTUs per hour. The power draw on this one, it's running is 11.2 amps and it does use refrigerant of the R-410A. But that should do it for the review on this Furrion Chill HE Black Rooftop RV Air Conditioner System with the 13,500 BTU cooling capacity..
