Great product, put in a 2022 winniebago vista, one AC just wouldn't cut it. Other that than cutting the hole in the roof, pretty easy install. So now I have a new AC with its on power and extension cord.

Its still doing great, actually, better than the coleman thats in there also. The Advent blows it away.

by:

It’s a little on the loud side it doesn’t want to force the air through the original ducking system. Other than that it seems to work OK. as far as working with the sales department, I give them a five they were on top of everything.

by:

worked perfect we love it. i think as said before in other reviews you will need a 12v source at the unit in the ceiling i got lucky i have a 12v light really close so i just drilled hole in 2x4 in ceiling and fished a wire from it to the ac unit fired right up. its super quiet compared to my old one. the company ships fast and easy to deal with also

by:

Not had a chance to install yet but service is good

by:

Fast shipping. Great customer service. Great prices. The AC was damaged when arrived. Replacement was easy and painless. The shipping on the new AC was very fast .I will use etrailer again .

by:

by:

1 year worth of use, still going strong. Great AC and price.

by:

My ac system is unremarkable! With a 2 unit RV, my other unit never has had to run full time. I will be replacing the old unit soon and will definitely be purchasing the same brand. Satisfied customer!!!

My unit it throwing a E5 code and want come on

Thank you for your review on the AC unit. The e5 error means there is a communication error between the thermostat and the relay kit. This can be due to dust or moisture on the connections or even a loose connection. I recommend to take a look at all of those connections.

all good, easy installation the unit works ok.

by:

Our RV was not prewired for 2nd AC so that was the hard part. This ac pours out the cold air and allows 5th wheel to cool down quickly after long hot travel days. Good instructions.

by:

Overall I would say it’s a good replacement AC for the price.

Pros:
Price point - It’s reasonably priced.
It cools my 23ft camper very well.

Cons:
It only blows air in one direction, which happens to be towards the rear of my camper. The RV tech who did the job said it could only be installed in one position, which happens to direct the cool air towards the back. I use a small table top fan to direct the cooler air towards the front of the camper.

The digital thermostat in the AC seems to read about 5° warmer than the actual temperature in the camper, especially on hotter days.

I’ve noticed some apparent condensation dripping in the floor after turning it off for travel.

If I had known these 3 issues, I probably would have spent a little more money and bought a better unit.

by:

Overall an easy install. Would have been 5 stars but the discharge is a bit noisy….maybe it would be quieter if it was ducted instead of a direct dump airflow

by:

I've put in 5 of these AC units so far (south texas) and have had no complaints. Fairly simple installation, but I highly suggest you use an RV Technician. Everything works great until it doesn't. Then you need to know what to test to determine if the problem is you or the product. Advent is cheaper than going OEM and will hopefully last the life of any used RV. The most important thing to making an AC last, is regular preventative maintenance. Something most people neglect. E-trailer is great to work with when ordering and helping you troubleshoot any issues over the phone. Delivery is just as quick as most other RV suppliers out there.

by:

all parts fit well. works great

by:

The air conditioner main circuit board burned a relay 4 months into ownership. The upside was the customer service was good. The downside is that you have to go through the manufacturer to get warranty. They sent parts quickly, but I am a certified ac tech and when the labor was submitted they only paid $30 for 3 hours of troubleshooting and repair.

The company done great letting me know about shipping and arrival date . Unit did sustain some shipping damage . Main frame base was dented. Install for a replacement unit was not bad . Had to rework the opening and adjust mounting brackets . Instructions were easy to follow . The addition of the optional plenum for thicker roofs was a time saver . Wiring was a bit of an issue . No where in the product description or instructions did it state about having to supply additional 12vdc . Most units use a step down transformer in the PCB . This unit does not come to find out . Could not figure out why the thermostat harness didn’t have 12v dc coming out . After a call to Advent , I was informed to supply 12Vdc from an outside source ! After this hiccup, the job went smoothly. Unit does a great job cooling, and is quiet. Thermostat is easy to navigate through. Unit looks nice inside and out . Just not sure how long the rubber bands are going to hold up retaining the filter in the Florida heat .

  • Can Carrier AC be Replaced if Thermostat is Bad
You can replace your Carrier AC if your thermostat is bad, but you would need an all-new unit (including the thermostat) instead of the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Carrier Setup # ACCAR150. The reason for that is this unit includes a wiring adapter that plugs into a Carrier set up that is in working order, so it wouldn't function without the wiring working properly. So what you can use instead is a unit from Advent that comes with everything you need, including a thermostat;...

  • Do You Have the Thermostat Wiring Diagram for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ADV74FR?
I have the diagrams! I went ahead and attached the wiring diagrams for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ADV74FR. I included the wiring diagram for the thermostat (with the red/white, purple, and blue wires) as well as the main relay kit.

  • Can An Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System Control An LP Furnace With The Thermostat
Yes, to connect the thermostat included with the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV74FR you'll need to attach the THERM- wire on your furnace to the brown/white wire on the thermostat. The THERM+ wire on your furnace can then be capped off with some electrical tape. The only difference between the # ADV74FR and # ADV64FR is the color of the shroud. Advent Air is a great option to replace your current unit and is currently priced lower than the other options we have.

  • Can I Replace My Coleman Mach 8530-3481 Thermostat
For your application the best solution we have is for you to replace your whole AC unit with the 15,000 Btu Advent system: - Black # ADV74FR - White # ADV64FR The thermostat you're looking for no longer exists which is why you'll need to replace your whole system. This AC unit works with a ducted system and comes with it's own thermostat. While it initially only produces cold air, I recommend adding the Heat Strip and Start Capacitor so it can produce warmer air and the initial power...

  • RV Air Conditioner Recommendation for Enclosed Trailer
I suggest the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat - 15,000 Btu - Black Item # ADV74FR. This AC unit is for ducted or ductless systems and lets you replace or add a new AC to your RV. It has a wall thermostat with an LED display and controls the mode, fan, and temperature settings. While do we have an option for you, since your Carrier unit's control board is in the distribution box, what you will need is a new AC unit, because just replacing the top unit won't allow your AC to work. So what you will need instead is the following Advent AC, and you can choose from either White or Black: - White: Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat - 15,000 Btu # ADV64FR - Black: Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall...

  • Replacement for Furrion 14.5K BTU RV Air Conditioner on 2022 Grand Design Imagine 2500RL
The only direct replacement options we offer are from Furrion as there aren't any adapters currently to go from a Furrion to a Dometic for example. That said, it looks like you have the old Furrion model so it might be a good time to upgrade to the new high efficiency "HE" model, the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner Unit for Furrion Setup part # FR86PR. This unit requires much less power starting up so if you ever boondock and use your generator, you'll come to love this...

We don't carry Dometic AC units so I wouldn't be able to replace the broken plastic on your Dometic air distribution box.
