The unit is also compatible with ductless systems.

AC works great but you are pretty much on your own for installation. Instructions are not great. Made a phone call to etrailer and they said IDK. I figured it out but it really does work well.

We have an install video of this piece that I will attach, but when it comes to specific questions on air distribution, our techs do not have a HVAC certificate so we recommend calling the manufacturer.

by:

I’ve only had the chance to run this once, being I am totally rebuilding a 1982 nomad trailer.
It seems to work just fine, but I’ll have to get the trailer completely livable to make sure it does the job.
The installation was pretty simple and went smoothly.

by:

Great Product for the money! Easy install except for getting it on the roof. Haven't used it on camping trip yet but have ran at works good. Had isssue with cracked hood at Shipping, but called got instant service sent a new out!

by:

Great product, put in a 2022 winniebago vista, one AC just wouldn't cut it. Other that than cutting the hole in the roof, pretty easy install. So now I have a new AC with its on power and extension cord.

by:

all good, easy installation the unit works ok.

by:

Our RV was not prewired for 2nd AC so that was the hard part. This ac pours out the cold air and allows 5th wheel to cool down quickly after long hot travel days. Good instructions.

by:

Overall I would say it’s a good replacement AC for the price.

Pros:
Price point - It’s reasonably priced.
It cools my 23ft camper very well.

Cons:
It only blows air in one direction, which happens to be towards the rear of my camper. The RV tech who did the job said it could only be installed in one position, which happens to direct the cool air towards the back. I use a small table top fan to direct the cooler air towards the front of the camper.

The digital thermostat in the AC seems to read about 5° warmer than the actual temperature in the camper, especially on hotter days.

I’ve noticed some apparent condensation dripping in the floor after turning it off for travel.

If I had known these 3 issues, I probably would have spent a little more money and bought a better unit.

by:

It’s a little on the loud side it doesn’t want to force the air through the original ducking system. Other than that it seems to work OK. as far as working with the sales department, I give them a five they were on top of everything.

by:

Overall an easy install. Would have been 5 stars but the discharge is a bit noisy….maybe it would be quieter if it was ducted instead of a direct dump airflow

by:

I've put in 5 of these AC units so far (south texas) and have had no complaints. Fairly simple installation, but I highly suggest you use an RV Technician. Everything works great until it doesn't. Then you need to know what to test to determine if the problem is you or the product. Advent is cheaper than going OEM and will hopefully last the life of any used RV. The most important thing to making an AC last, is regular preventative maintenance. Something most people neglect. E-trailer is great to work with when ordering and helping you troubleshoot any issues over the phone. Delivery is just as quick as most other RV suppliers out there.

by:

The air conditioner main circuit board burned a relay 4 months into ownership. The upside was the customer service was good. The downside is that you have to go through the manufacturer to get warranty. They sent parts quickly, but I am a certified ac tech and when the labor was submitted they only paid $30 for 3 hours of troubleshooting and repair.

The company done great letting me know about shipping and arrival date . Unit did sustain some shipping damage . Main frame base was dented. Install for a replacement unit was not bad . Had to rework the opening and adjust mounting brackets . Instructions were easy to follow . The addition of the optional plenum for thicker roofs was a time saver . Wiring was a bit of an issue . No where in the product description or instructions did it state about having to supply additional 12vdc . Most units use a step down transformer in the PCB . This unit does not come to find out . Could not figure out why the thermostat harness didn’t have 12v dc coming out . After a call to Advent , I was informed to supply 12Vdc from an outside source ! After this hiccup, the job went smoothly. Unit does a great job cooling, and is quiet. Thermostat is easy to navigate through. Unit looks nice inside and out . Just not sure how long the rubber bands are going to hold up retaining the filter in the Florida heat .

  • Troubleshooting An Advent Air RV Air Conditioner That Doesn't Turn Off When It Reaches Set Temp
The temperature probe for RV AC units is actually up in the air distribution box controller which can kind of throw off what temperature the unit thinks it is. Hot air rises and can get trapped up by the probe causing it to think it's still not where it needs to be. The typical fix for this is to adjust the air dampers in the distribution box and/or to keep the fan running so that it circulates the cool air up to the probe. As for the wires, there shouldn't be any issues with them being...

  • Can Advent ADV44FR RV Air Conditioner Be Mounted Vertically
The # ADV44FR Advent RV Air Conditioner shouldn't be mounted in the way you describe. If you did so, the compressor would be sitting on its side and wouldn't receive the proper lubrication, which would quickly cause the compressor to fail. The unit is meant to be mounted to the roof of a vehicle so the output feeds through the underside through a 14x14 inch opening in the vehicle's roof, as shown in the linked install video.
