The TracVan ES ladder rack comes with 4 steel-reinforced feet. The feet are designed to securely attach to the factory fixed mounting points on the roof of your van. The included custom hardware allows you to bolt the feet to the mounting points for a quick, no-drill installation.
The sturdy aluminum crossbars on all Thule TracRac ladder racks feature integrated slots for mounting and easily adjusting accessories, such as the included load stops. These slots appear on both the top and bottom of the bars for the ultimate in mounting versatility.
A built-in trip strip at the front of each crossbar shields the slots from wind, maintaining the aerodynamic quality of the bars and preventing that annoying whistle you often find with slotted bars.
Included with your TracVan are 4 tie-down accessories. These load stops are designed to mount in the slots of the crossbars and slide along them for quick, easy adjustment. To adjust a load stop, simply twist the quick-release knob, slide the load stop to the desired position, and then tighten the knob to secure the load stop in place. The bookend-style pieces help to hold ladders and lumber in place on the crossbars. They also have built-in loops for securing tie-down straps.
The TracVan rack system is constructed of durable, lightweight aluminum. Because aluminum is lighter than steel - the material most often used for ladder racks - only a small percentage of your roof's capacity is taken up by the rack itself, enabling you to pack on more weight than you could with a steel system.
Even though aluminum is already rustproof, Thule TracRac has taken the extra step of adding a dual powder coat finish to further protect your rack. The electrostatic powder coat (e-coat) clings to the metal surface better than traditional paint finishes for a more durable covering. The second coat is a clear finish that adds extra shine and protection from scuffs and scratches.

Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this Thule TracRac TracVan ES Van Ladder Rack. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. It fits the 2015 through the 2022 RAM ProMaster City series. Make sure you're checking our fit guide etrailer.com, top center of the homepage. Enter your year, make and model.
Make sure you're getting the right ones the first time. So folks getting into it, this van ladder rack is gonna let you carry ladders, lumber, maybe some plumbing supplies, anything that's long that you wanna get up outta the way with ease. It's a nice aerodynamic design here, the elliptical shaped bar is nice and streamlined to reduce drag, wind noise, that kind of stuff. And it really truly is a very quick, easy install. It's gonna mount to your roof's van with the four steel reinforced feet and they're gonna bolt onto your factory fix mounting points.
So you're gonna have hardware and stuff. Let me zoom in here. You're gonna have these metal hardware bases. (base clatters) They're gonna go on top of this pad (pad clatters) and then the leg will go, screw into this guy here. And then again, this is getting mounted to the factory attachment points.
(base clatters) All your hardware here, end caps, all the screws, these lock cores will go over the plastic fascia, which will go over this (fascia clatters) and the lock core just pushes in and twist to keep this cap on. Now you can purchase these lock cores, the actual locking ones separately. Those are at etrailer.com, but it's gonna come with four plastic inserts. Now zooming back out, these load stops here, they're very nice, easy to use. You simply unscrew 'em, very gentle.
(load stop slides) They're sliding that T track all the way down (load stop slides) and say you wanna put something on one side, simply lock 'em down and they're not going nowhere. Loosen 'em up, (load stop slides) then you can move 'em again. So again, very, very simple design, easy to slide 'em. (load stop slides) Very nice. Now the bar itself is a nice 6,000 series (metal clinks) extruded aluminum construction. (metal clinks) I'm gonna show you an in-look here. You can kind of see the structural integrity there inside. Very nice. It has a double coating on it, so it's got a clear coat and it's got that nice e-coat on there as well to prevent rust, corrosion, pitting, that kind of stuff. And it's also gonna help protect against UV rays, discoloration, and all those things as well. Now like I said, the load bars here, they do slide, but you can attach hooks here, through here as tie down points maybe, stuff like that. So it gives you a lot of versatility with strapping stuff down and keeping it safe. Everything here again, is custom designed for those ProMaster City vans and it is made here in the USA. The weight rating is 500 pounds total. The bars are 53 inches wide and they only weigh 15 pounds fully assembled. So this assembly in my hand is 15 pounds. (bar thuds) If I fully assembled the rest of 'em on that bar, it would be another 15 pounds. 500 pounds capacity. Again, limited lifetime warranty on the bars themselves. This was easy to install, looks and functions as it should. great product!!
Very easy to follow assembly drawings. Took less than an hour to assemble and attach to roof. I did look up on Internet about removing factory installed plastic plugs on roof of van, as there were no instructions in owners manual. Just unscrew plugs with Phillips head screwdriver, and save them for later use. Looking forward to strapping things on the roof! Ladders, lumber, sheet metal brake, kayaks....
Good product but the product photo is misleading.
In the product photo, it looks like there is at least 12" of bar protruding beyond each mounting leg.
In reality, it is about 5" (much more reasonable)
This is not etrailer's fault. The manufacturer uses the same picture on their website and even on the box the product came in. It is very misleading.
Otherwise it seems like a very well built and designed product. You will need a little bit of clear silicone to seal around the legs. This is per the product instructions. Otherwise water will get inside the van.

Excellent Rack. Easy install on 2015 Mid Roof Ford Transit. You will want a rear ladder as well as a cat walk.

Recieved it last night as told,Got it all installed today . worked just like the videos, no problems. Track RAC looks good. Service was great!
This rack does not work on the full size Transit unless you want to scratch the van (where the roof meets the top of the rear cargo doors) everytime you load or unload the racks. I would have used them for ladders or lumber that is too long for inside the van. The factory mounting holes on the van are too far in from the back of the vehicle for these racks to work. It's a shame because these are nice racks, but I don't want to scrape the paint off my van. Maybe a bracket redesign would work, but until then, these are not for me.
I bought this product as part of a roof rack system that is to be installed on a new Ram ProMaster Cargo van build. The Thule TH29613XT will serve as the base component, with longer 79" bars being added, and a Thule Hullavator Pro attached to them. Overall, this product will used to transport kayaks to and from various locations, with business & pleasure in primarily in mind.
Generally, the install was as easy as could be with minimal time invested.
I couldn't be more happy than what I am with etrailer.com in regards to how everything worked out. I found the website to be easily navigable, ordering of the product a since, and delivery extremely prompt. Throughout it all, communication via email pertaining to conformation of purchase, processing and shipping, as well as delivery to be top notch. Have not even mounted it yet, but see it is very easy to do. I like the strength and quality of hte components and it will serve the purpose for what I carry on my Ford Transit van.
