Today we're going to be reviewing the Curt trailer hitch mounted step with anti-skid surface for 2-inch trailer hitches, part number C31001. The hitch step is an excellent product if you need to get to those hard to reach places such as the roof of your vehicle to unload your cargo baskets or your engine compartment with your front hitches. It has a nice non-skid surface here, which will help with traction when you're stepping up to get to your roof. It also has a nice black powder coat finish, which is rust and corrosion resistant. The overall dimensions for the plate itself are 6-3/8 inches here and 10-3/4 inches from here to here. Now, the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the platform is 5-1/4 inches.
This heavy duty step can easily slide into your 2-inch shank like so, just line up the hitch pin holes, although it should be noted it does not come with hitch pin and clip. Today, I'm using part number PC3, which you can find on etrailer.com. Slide it in through like so, put our clip through. That will do it for the Curt trailer hitch mounted step with anti-skid surface for 2-inch trailer hitches, part number C31001.

Packaged in a box with another boxed item. Not much done to protect it. Seems fine and the quality is fine.

I've only had this 24 hours and already I don't know how I've managed without it all these years. Just as described, it's really sturdy and solid and the non slip surface makes it feel completely safe getting in and out of my E250 cargovan. Size is good too, plenty big enough that you don't feel you're going to miss the step - and I'm not used to it yet, but it doesn't get in the way when loading and unloading.

Nicely fabricated with a quality black powder-coated finish. Good value for the money. Does exactly what we wanted it to do for accessing the contents of the box with tailgate up.

Excellent quality product, well constructed and sturdy. The only problem is the lack of width. When standing on the step, there is no room to shift your footing for balance and when reaching. An additional six inches of width would make this product even better.

- Is There A Compatible Hitch Mounted Step For An Andersen EZ Ballmount I went out to the warehouse and test these two products together and the hole spacing for the # 358STEP just doesn't line up with the spacing on the Andersen shank. I tested all of the other channel mounted steps we have as well and was unable to find a fit. If you wanted to switch to a BulletProof hitch ballmount like the # HD256 then you would be able to use the hitch step. The only other option would be to remove the Andersen hitch as needed and use a hitch mounted step like # C31001.
