Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this CE Smith stainless steel U-bolt. This heavy-duty, multipurpose U-bolt is intended for use on trailers to help secure brackets, mounts, and cargo to your trailer's frame. This is made in the USA of stainless steel construction, making it sturdy and resistant to corrosion. It's gonna be ideal for marine applications.
And it includes one U-bolt with two washers and two nylon lock nuts. Now, let me pull out my ruler here and give you some overall measurements. I'm gonna be measuring the inside dimensions of this U-bolt. So, looking at the length, we are sitting right at three inches long. And then measuring that inside width, we are sitting right at about 3 1/8 inches wide.
The diameter is 7/16 of an inch. And the threaded section, we are sitting right at two inches long. And this has 14 threads per inch. It is important to note that you should apply grease to the threads before assembling stainless steel hardware to reduce the risk of nut seizure. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.

Includes mounting hardware.Something is wrong with this item. Maybe and issue with the nylock nuts Not really sure. They will tighten partway, and then go no further....and you can't get them unthreaded. Had to cut off the U-bolt. I'd think that somehow we messed up and cross threaded them or something, but that was not the case. Definitely a product defect.
Major issue with the lock nut, once fastened onto the u-bolt up to hand tight, whether using hand tools or drill, several nuts seized and could not be loosened rendering the u-bolt useless as it could not be properly tightened. Eventually the bolt gave way and snapped off. Quality control missed big time on these!
Stainless steel product in salt water is a must- glad to find these hard to find hardware
The bolts were exactly what I needed. Shipping was very quick. I found them to be a great price for stainless.
So far, they are doing just fine. Expect the they will support a 17.5ft V-Hull with a 115HP motor for a long time.
These u boats are a quality product. I am replacing the u bolts on my boat trailer with these to hetbridnofnrusted parts. The pricing was very competitive and actually better than I could get locally. Service was prompt and accurate.

Outstanding
Just wanted to say that etrailer provided the items I ordered in premium condition and the packaging was done in such a manner that all items were protected during shipping. It did take a little longer to get the items than I expected, however, it was worth the wait.
I only ordered galvanized bunk supports and stainless steel u-bolts. They were shipped to me very quickly, to my surprise, for no charge, due to the dollar amount of the purchase. Upon inspection, I was pleased to see that the bolts were manufactured in the USA. I could not tell where the bunk supports were made. Kudos to etrailer for the good products and prompt delivery !
