Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2007 Toyota Tundra

This was one of the easiest accessories I’ve installed on my Tundra. It is a front receiver hitch so I don’t use it very often. Mostly just for bike racks when towing a trailer, but when you need it you need it.

by:

Straight forward and perfect fit on my 2008 Toyota Tundra!!

by:
2019 Toyota Tundra

These is an excellent hitch at an excellent price. The install was easy and all the hardware that is needed is in the box. I chose the Drawtite over the Curt because the receiver end is a little longer. It' not even noticeable on the truck. I have a snow plow that attaches to the hitch. The Toyota cap shown in the picture was not included. The Tundra is a 2020 so I can confirm if fits.

Hitch has been working as expected. After one year it still looks as good as when I installed it. They use alot of road salt where I live but the hitch has no rust on it.

by:

The hitch is high quality and fit perfectly on my truck.

It’s a high quality product and I have had no issues with it.

I received my order in 2 days. Installed it 5 days later. Perfect fit. I used my floor jack to raise it into place and installed bolts. I had a technical question about the correct torque value. Called E-Trailer and was promptly answered by Rebecca. She gave me the information I needed and I finished the installation. I haven't tried to use it yet. Very pleased. This is my second order from E-Trailer and I highly recommend them.

2018 Toyota Tundra

Really impressed with how quickly I received the hitch. Thanks!

by:

Very easy to install. Just what I wante d.

by:

We use this with an aluminum rack to haul a Honda 150cc scooter when we go camping. The only negative is how low it is -- ended up buying a 2" riser/extension which made it much more functional. Not really the fault of the hitch, just the reality of the mounting points. If you end up needing a riser make sure you get one with the proper weight rating as some are just made for lightweight bicycle racks.

by:
2021 Toyota Tundra

The product looks well built. The shipping box arrived with some minor damage and chipped some paint that will need some touch up prior to install. Id reco adding a little more protection to prevent this. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and quick shipping and will install this weekend.

by:
2019 Toyota Tundra

Excellent value easy to install and works great.

by:

Yes , my 2019 tundra is beach ready and the fishing rods are not broken.... with the front hitch and rod cooler on the front the 4x4 on the beach is that much easier. Yes 3 friends are looking at doing the same setup. I added a flag to remind me there is 3 extra feet in front of the truck when the rods are not in the holders.

by:

We have a truck camper, and needed more room for our camping equipment. Purchased this front hitch from etrailer, and it has been awesome. Have used it to carry our generator, and bought a cargo tray that we use also. Love it! Thanks!

by:

Great fit and good quality

by:

Hitch worked perfect and thanks for the instructions . My only regret is that I didn't think about drilling a hole in the skid plate myself for changing the oil filter ha! Again thanks hitch work perfect and looks good !

by:

It was easy to install but for the hole saw on the belly pan. It makes dialing in a pontoon in a tight spot a enjoyable process.

by:
2021 Toyota Tundra

Excellent quality, reasonable price and delivered early. Thumbs up to etrailer !!

by:

It is still working well. I use it for light use nothing too heavy.

by:

Perfect fit, the front hitch makes moving the boat in a small storage space much easier.

by:
Toyota Tundra

Works just as I had hoped. Easy to install, looks good on vehicle. I use it mainly to hold a rod and cooler rack on my Tundra. The bolt and bracket keeps
it from rattling. High quality, good price.

by:

Great service product arrived in perfect condition and in short order. Thank you so much

Perfect fit! One year later and the bolts are still tight. I hit a deer recently and am convinced the front hitch minimized damage to my truck. Very useful!

Still perfect!

William was fantastic to work with and got my order out asap!!!

by:

Installation wasn't very difficult. I was very happy to add a hitch to the front of my truck. I installed to be able to put a hitch mounted winch or bike rack. The pictures others have posted how it sits on the truck. I found that it sits to far back from the bumper for my needs. Everything I need to attach needs and extension to clear the bumper. I wouldn't repurchase and install if I knew. The hitch itself is manufactured well and works as expected for a bolt on application.

Thank you for reaching out! I wanted to recommend a hitch extender. I attached a link to our products and there are varying lengths to choose from depending on your needs.

2012 Toyota Tundra

For my 2012 Toyoda Tundra, the installation is very simple and straight forward. Remove the 4 bolts holding the 2 front tow hooks in place. Position the new front hitch between the tow hooks and the frame, then install the 4 new bolts. The hitch is now directly bolted to the truck frame and the tow hooks are still usable.

  • Recommended Method For Moving 7500lb Boat Trailer Around In Tight Space
I have a different option for you, but the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 65080 you were looking at for your 2008 Toyota Tundra is only rated for 500lbs tongue weight, so you will not be able to use it to move your 7500lbs boat trailer with 750-850lbs tongue weight. Instead I recommend using a trailer dolly like the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive # TVXL25 if your trailer uses a 2-5/16" hitch ball, or the # TVXL2 if your trailer uses a 2" hitch ball. • Can Front Hitch Fit with Push Bar on 2011 Toyota Tundra

Starting with the tow hooks, those will remain on your 2020 Toyota Tundra when installing the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65080. They will be temporarily removed, but will be bolted back on. In regards to the hole, there is a small hole you will need to enlarge in the skid shield to allow for access to the oil filter. And as for how much hangs down, it will be the crosstube of the hitch. I have added a photo a customer sent in of this hitch installed on their 2020...

Yes, you can absolutely mount a snow plow like the SnowBear Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches # SB324-080 you referenced on the Draw-Tite front-mounted hitch you asked about: - Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65080 This hitch, which fits 2007 and up Toyota Tundras and Sequoias, meets the necessary standards and has a 500 lb vertical load limit (which is like tongue weight for a front-mount hitch), and the SnowBear weighs 315 lbs, so it has more than the necessary capacity.

We can offer you a choice of two 2-inch front-mounted hitches for your 2017 Toyota Tundra. You can see both the Curt and Draw-Tite options by clicking on the link provided. Both Curt hitch # 31198 and Draw-Tite hitch # 65080 share 500-lb vertical load and 9000-lb line pull ratings. Both are no-drill installations using included hardware. The Draw-Tite front mount hitch # 65080 is listed as fitting all styles of the 2008 Toyota Tundra. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. The hitch has a 500 pound vertical load capacity but you need to determine the capacity of the front axle to know if you can add a carrier and bike to the the front of the truck. Front mount hitches are made more for winching applications where there is not as much vertical load.
