So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

100 happy with the trans cooler and adapter set. Temp stays nice and cool. Puts me at ease when towing my trailer.

by:

worked great doing the job it is designed for

by:

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

  • How Does Derale Radiator Fitting for Transmission Coolers Install on a 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 Liter
The Derale transmission cooler fitting # D13018 is listed as a fit for your 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 liter. The fittings thread onto steel transmission lines and in the radiator so you will not have to flare the lines. I included a picture that illustrates this.

  • Recommended Transmission Coolers and Programmer For a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD 6.0L 4L80E
First I recommend getting a Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner # EP39YR for your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD. This will allow you to get more power to make towing easier on your Silverado and will also allow you to more accurately monitor temperatures on your engine and transmission. For your transmission I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504. This is a large plate cooler which will help to lower transmission temperatures when towing....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2009 Yukon XL SLT 5.3 Towing an 8000 lb Camper
When it comes to transmission coolers, I recommend choosing the largest transmission cooler that will fit into the available space. The ideal place to install a transmission cooler is directly behind the grill, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. I would recommend measuring the available space so you know what size cooler to look at. For your 2009 GMC Yukon XL SLT with the 5.3 liter engine, I would recommend using the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504. This is a class IV cooler...

  • Best Solution for Lowering Vehicle Temperatures When Towing
The added stress from trailer towing usually shows up as an increased transmission temperature. I am not sure if the gauge you're referring to is displaying engine coolant temperature or if you have one that shows transmission temperature. We do offer Derale Class III transmission cooler # D12903 for your 5.3L Yukon XL which measures a generous 15-1/4 x 7-1/2. This can be mounted in front of your AC condenser to provide supplemental transmission cooling after the OEM cooler in the radiator...

  • Weight Distribution System for 8000 lb Boat/Trailer w/ Surge Coupler Towed by 2004 Chevy Avalanche
As a starting point, I would recommend finding the exact as-towed weight and tongue weight of the boat and trailer. This is an important consideration in choosing a weight distribution system, as well as determining if you are exceeding the towing capacity of the Avalanche. According to my research, the towing capacity varied from 7100 up to 12000 lbs depending on how the truck was equipped. Exceeding the manufacturer stated towing capacity is not recommended. For best performance, you...

  • Transmission Cooler for Towing 5300 lb Trailer in the Mountains for 2007 Chevy Silverado 5.3L
Since you will be towing in the mountains, which is hard on a transmission, I would recommend getting the largest, highest rated transmission cooler that will fit your vehicle. You cannot over cool a transmission. The ideal install location would be in front of the radiator and A/C condenser, right behind the grille. The # D13102 you mentioned will provide some cooling, but due to the fact that you will be towing up and down mountains, it would be too small for your needs. The largest...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for a 2015 GMC Yukon XL
The best transmission cooler for a 2015 GMC Yukon XL will be the biggest one you have space for but as these vehicles have very large engine bays you should be able to use pretty much any one such as the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler part # D13613 which is what I recommend. It measures 11" wide x 8-7/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep. You will need to do some measuring in front of the radiator that is in your 2007 GMC Sierra. If you find that you have enough clearance there to install the # D13105 cooler, then it would work well for you. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation # D13504 for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8L V8
In most cases the stock transmission cooler is adequate at best on vehicles when not pulling a trailer. If you are planning on towing 5,000-6,000 lbs you will want a transmission cooler to prolong the life of the transmission in your 2003 Chevy Silverado LS 1500 2WD with a 4.8L V8. There are not specific installation instructions when it comes to installing transmission coolers, but there are basic guidelines for installing one that are pretty universal. The first step for installing this Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13504, on your 1993 Chevy G-30 van with A/C is finding the best location for mounting the cooler. for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application. When it comes to picking out a transmission cooler for a vehicle there is not a list of confirmed coolers that will fit different vehicles. The best way to pick one out is to measure the area in front of your radiator and pick a cooler that will fit in that area. If you have the room I think a Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13502 should work well to cool the transmission fluid of your 2003 Cadillac CTS. Factory transmission coolers are adequate at best at keeping the transmission fluid within the optimum 160 to 200 degrees F range. Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, especially since transmission fluid cannot be over cooled. If you do towing, hauling, or are otherwise looking to get the most life out of your transmission then adding a supplemental cooler would be a great idea. Cooler # D13504 is a good choice. I believe you are correct, the Derale Transmission Pan Cooler, # D14204, is designed for GM vehicles with 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions from 1982 to 1999 and we do not list an transmission cooler pan for the 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with 4L60 M-30 transmission. This cooler measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. It is rated as a Class III which is what is recommended for vehicles with Class III trailer hitches. You should be able to install the transmission cooler like you have described provided you have enough hose to reach. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018. Keeping the transmission fluid cool is the greatest way to prolong the life of the transmission as heat is a transmission's worst enemy.
