The best option for your 2002 Chevy Silverado with the 6.0L V8 engine is a plate fin cooler like the Derale # D13504. The plate fin style cooler helps dissipate heat better than a tube fin style and this is the largest cooler that is going to fit in your vehicle. These are relatively easy to install and will help cool down the transmission by using the air intake from the front of the truck. You will need to add the Derale Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13018 for this to be compatible with your 2002 Chevy Silverado.
Plate fin coolers will provide the best cooling of your transmission fluids so it's generally best to choose one of those when comparing the two types- and bigger is always better since they take in more air than a smaller cooler. If you wanted to go a more economical route you could go with a smaller plate fin type cooler. If that is the case you could go with the Derale # D13502 , which is about 4-1/2" shorter than the # D13504 and should provide adequate cooling abilities for your 2002 Silverado. You will still need the Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13018 to connect the hoses to use this cooler.
