Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this CURT 5-way Flat Vehicle End LED Circuit Tester. Now this 5-way connector tester will plug into your vehicle's wiring harness to confirm your lights are functioning. It'll basically test your taillights, your brake lights, turn signals, and reverse lights. This tester works by plugging into the connector socket on your vehicle and then responding to the various electrical signals that are produced by pushing the brake pedal, signaling a turn, turning on your running lights and so on.
Basically, when this socket is getting proper power, the tester's labeled LED lights right here will light up corresponding to each wire in the connector to let you know which functions are working properly. If you notice right here, if you look closely, you see the four red lights there. First one says tail. Next one says left turn and brake. Next one's right turn and brake.
And the last one will be for the reverse lights. And up here it actually is labeled also what color wire goes to these. So when you do plug this in, the nice thing about this tester is you can leave it attached to your circuit to continuously monitor the line between your vehicle and the trailer lighting system and the way you'll do that is pop off this dust cover, plug it in, and then you can plug your trailer socket or your trailer wiring right into that. And then it'll constantly monitor that just to let you know if there's any problems. Does have this nice attached dust cover that when you're not plugged in, you can just put that over there to protect the terminals.
