Jake: Hey guys, Jake here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the CargoSmart Heavy-Duty Cambuckle Strap.So one thing I really like about this, just to start off, is that you don't have to mesh with any ratchet straps. You're not going to have to worry about tying it down with those S-hooks when this strap is paired with the E-Track and X-Track capable buckles.Now normally I would not tie down my quad with a cambuckle-style strap, but these heavy-duty straps are going to have a 667-pound weight capacity, so they are going to be very, very stout. And the other nice thing about a cambuckle strap is you're not going to be able to over-tighten something, so you don't ever risk damaging your suspension or anything on your quad.Now, I still would rather use a retractable-style ratchet strap just so that you still have that very confined and one-unit system. And I like to get it a little bit tighter than what you can get with these cambuckle straps. But with the weight capacity that these have, you're still going to be able to haul that load.Now when it comes to the cambuckle part of this, it's a really heavy-duty steel construction, and I know it's going to hold up over time really well.

The strap is also very impressive of how thick it is. It's going to be a two-inch strap, so it's going to have a higher pull strength than those one-inch straps that normally come on your cambuckles. And with it being 12 feet long, you're going to be able to tie down various different types of loads, whatever you might be hauling.So on the inside of our cambuckle strap, you can see these teeth. They're actually pretty sharp, so they're not only going to hold onto the strap when it's in the down position, it's not only going to hold onto it, but it's going to bite into that polyester webbing that the strap is made out of. And make sure that when you pull up on it, it's not going to go back through the cambuckle.Now one thing that you can kind of see right here is when you're pulling it up at an angle like we have here, it's going to move the strap over to the side, which I don't see as being such a big deal, but you just want to make sure that you're not jamming it too far into that over there.

But if you're using the strap in a straight line configuration, you're not going to run into any of those issues.So when it comes time to loosen your load, all you have to do is push on this little tab here, and then pull your strap through. And now you can see our strap is plenty loose to be able to undo our E-Track or X-Track brackets and take the strap off. So all in all, this is going to be a great, easy solution for strapping down some of those heavier loads.So we'll go ahead and show you how to get it in place. You slide it up through the bottom and then hold down on this tab here so that you can release the tensioning portion, and you just slide it through the back. It may take some time, but just know that once you get this done the first time, you probably won't have to do it again.

Here we go. See, it's coming through. You just pull that through, hold that tab down, and pull out just a little bit. Now we can go ahead and get it in place.So we'll start with our cambuckle side, and when tying down a quad or ATV or a side-by-side, you want to have it pretty far back so that you can tie it off at an angle, and you want to tie one forward and one backward. You can run your strap over, wherever you're going to tie down at, and then this is a nice part about it being E-Track and X-Track capable, that you just hook it in and it's never going to come loose while you're in transit.

So then, with this cambuckle strap, all you do is just pull all the excess out, and then tighten it so that your load doesn't go anywhere.So we'll go ahead and get the slack tied up, get our front tied down, and then you're ready to hit the road.
