The Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness fit as recommended by the etrailer.com customer service representative. I wanted to be sure the electrical connector package would fit my Draw-Tite hitch, and it did. The instructions were straightforward, although there were no screws or nuts to attach the metal bracket to the hitch. I had to supply those. I believe they should have been part of the kit. The installation video on the etrailer.com site was very helpful.

by:
Chevrolet TrailBlazer

This connector worked perfectly on my '06 Chevy Trailblazer. It was very easy to swap it out with my original connector, and the addition of the 4-pole plug makes it easy to eliminate the 7 to 4 pin adapter.

I am having a problem with the install of the three Curt trailer components I purchased. I intentionally bought all of the same brand assuming that they would work together. The problem is that the Curt wiring harness (part# C55774) is too long and rigid. When the 7-pin connector is installed in the bracket that comes with it, it measure 5 inches until the black wire protective sleeve bends (to go under the hitch receiver frame).

The no-drill bracket (part# C57202) is supposed to attach the harness bracket to the hitch. But it is only 6.5" long, and the hitch tube is 3" wide. So with the bracket attached to the hitch, there is only 3.5" of space left to mount the harness bracket so that the screw holes line up.

I am disappointed that this is the case, especially as I called etrailer to check that the parts I was ordering would work together.

It looks like I will have to discard C57202 and drill two holes into the bottom of the hitch and mount the harness bracket directly. This is what I wanted to avoid - having to drill holes.

The 7-way bracket that comes with the wiring harness part # C55774 is designed to be installed with the wiring harness bracket hanging below the no drill bracket part # C57202. Since you are worried about the loose wiring I would recommend using some wire loom such as part # 459075-1 to protect your wiring and zip tie any slack with zip ties part # DW05726-25. I know this is not the option you wanted but I feel it is better than drilling into the hitch.

This was supposed to be a plug in installation for my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. No it wasn't. Completely different connector, and the wiring was 2 feet too short. Was able to use it after a bit of clipping and splicing.

It has been great works exactly as it should

Product I ordered had an inaccurate description. Contacted customer service to return they would not send return shipping label so since the return shipping would have costed more than the part I threw it in the trash and ordered the part needed from another supplier. Needless to say I will not be ordering anything again.

Perfect fit. My truck was not equipped with a tow package so I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit. The wiring and plug were already there with a cap on it to seal it from dirt/water. Took the cap off and this harness snapped right in place. Also installed an etrailer hitch and new bumper. Very happy with the products and the installer tools and information provided by etrailer.com.

by:
2017 GMC Acadia Limited

Working well. Have used the four prong plug only but am glad to have the 7 way available if needed.

by:

Harness was easy to install. The truck came prewired. It just needed the adapter. We dremeled our the back of the bumper (2019 Titan’s have the cut our outlined on the back side already). We had to dremel 2 side prices off the harness, but it slide right now. Then we drilled through the plastics bumper cover and the metal on the bumper and bolted the bracket to the bumper.

The 4 point is just fished between the license plate and the bumper. It was easy and it now looks factory. Very happy with how it came out! Install was a cinch!

2018 Nissan Titan

I have a 2018 Nissan Titan, and while the connector was a perfect fit for connectivity to the factory connector. The Curt T-Connector wiring harness was about 6 inches short from connecting to the factory harness when mounted on the trailer hitch bracket. So, I was forced to mount it on the opposite side by drilling holes in bumper.

by:
2017 Ford Explorer

Always accurate parts and information

by:

If you have multiple trailers that either use a 4-way flat or 7-pin round connector and get tried of having to use an adapter go with this setup. I've had one on my other truck for a couple years and no problems with 'em thus far. You can technically use the old existing mount on the receiver hitch itself but the 4-way will dangle unless you ziptie it up.

My 2002 Ford Excursion 7.3L diesel had the original factory hitch and wiring harness. The quality and heft of the Curt T-Connector is impressive. I bet I get years of use without problems.

Great product. Installed on my 2018 Jeep GC. Because of dual 4 pin and 7 pin connector I don’t need an adaptor when swapping out trailers/camper. Clean look to it as well.

2023 Honda Passport

Bought this because of the split 4 pin and 7 pin connectors. I’ve had so many 7 pin to 4 pin adaptors and would forget that I let my son or son in-law use it and had to buy another one when I needed it. This will stop me from the need to buy another adaptor, good for me not good for my son and son in-law when they come over to borrow the trailer. LOL, who am I kidding I’ll still go with them to the store and buy another one.

by:

The actual trailer hitch was fine but the wiring kit was not the right kind. When I called to get a return authorization I was told that more than one half the cost of wiring kit will be deducted from my return for postage. I have never had to pay for returns to any company before. I will not be recommending your company

by:

There was no place on the new hitch to bolt the end to, which was a disappointment. For now I sip tied the end to the hitch in an area where it does not move.

  • Will the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Fit a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Yes, the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch, # C15323, will fit a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS with the factory bumper. I attached an installation video we made on a 2003 Silverado 1500 for you to check out. I'm sure you are aware of this already, but I'm sort of obligated to mention to check your truck's towing capacity. Even though this trailer hitch can tow up to 16,000 lbs, your truck is only capable of towing between 4,600 lbs and 10,000 lbs depending on how it is equipped. You can verify...

  • Which is More Common Trailer Wiring Connector 7-Way or 6-Way
The 7-way blade trailer connector is the most common connector for use with trailer brakes. The 6-way is typically only used with horse/agriculutral trailers but even then the 7-way is still pretty common. For a 2002 Ford F-250 we have the part # C55774 which gives you a 7-way and a 4-way.

  • 10K Trailer Hitch and 7-Way Wiring Needed for a 2017 Ford F-150
The only trailer hitch that is rated for 10K right out of the box for your 2017 Ford F-150 is the Curt # C26HR. All of the other options require a weight distribution system to achieve this weight rating. With that being said, it is important to note that you shouldn't exceed the listed trailer weight rating for your F-150 either. According to the Ford Towing Guide only about half of the 2017 F-150 configurations have the ability to safely tow up to at least a 10K trailer so you'll want...

We've got exactly what you're looking for. Simply unplug the tow package harness from where it plugs into the rear of your existing 7-way (which likely looks like the # HM40975 ), and swap your 7-way for part # C55774. This will provide a 7-way and a 4-pole which can be used simultaneously. Or, you can also install a dedicated 7-way in the truck bed using something like # C56000 I've linked to some typical installation videos for you.

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Chevy Traverse
The type of trailer wiring you'll need really depends on the trailer you plan to tow. For a vehicle like a 2015 Chevy Traverse you'd most likely only need a 4-way since this vehicle would be used to tow lighter duty trailers without brakes. That said, if you plan to tow a camper even the lighter duty campers will have brakes on them so a 7-way could be required. Either way you'd need to start with a 4-way so for that you'd want the part # C56181 which installs easily by plugging inline...

  • Comparing Diesel vs Gas Engine for Jeep Grand Cherokee to Tow Trailer
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it appears the actual towing capacity won't differ between the gas or diesel engine, as you are looking at a 6,200 pound limit for either option. The benefits then for a diesel engine over a gas is more power and low-end torque which in real life situations just means the Jeep's going to "feel" a bit more powerful when pulling a heavier trailer, especially when traveling through rough or hilly...
