Hitch And Wiring For A 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hello, Im curious as to whether I have the tow package, in regards to the wiring for your hitches. My build sheet says something like towing sway control, but I have no hitch or other indication of a tow package. Would my VIN provide you with more info? Its a 2016 grand cherokee laredo.

The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee has factory wiring but my not have the plug or the hitch depending on the model. The wiring should be located behind the rear fascia, just left of center, toward the driver side. There will be a wire with a round end and a cap. That is you tow package wiring.
To add a hitch and wiring to your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee I recommend the following:
Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # 75699 and the
Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors
Item # C55774.
The hitch is a class III hitch which when installed has a hidden cross tube. It also has a pre-welded bracket for wiring. The Curt T-Connector is a 7 pole and 4 pole combined and comes with the bracket that will mount on the pre-welded bracket on the hitch.
