If you are replacing the White ground wire on your 7-way trailer connector you can use 12 gauge wire like part # 12-1-1. This is Black wire but will work for replacing the White wire you said you have.

For your 1993 Nissan pickup truck I recommend first installing a 4-way trailer connector like part # HM43505. This is a simple installation. You just plug the harness into the truck wiring located behind the driver and passenger tail lights. I have attached a drawing that shows how this harness wiring is run.

To install a 7-way trailer connector you will then need part # 37185. I have attached a drawing that shows how this harness wiring is run. You can cap any of the wires that are not needed.

If you need the 7-way harness because your trailer has a 7-way and has brakes you will need a brake controller in your truck. I recommend part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to install and operate.

If you are installing a brake controller, I recommend using part # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185. The # ETBC7 includes the 7-way connector along with a mounting bracket and the circuit breakers needed when installing a brake controller. It also includes the other hardware needed to complete the installation. I have attached a drawing that shows how the brake controller and # ETBC7 wiring is run.
