This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

This is my second installation using etrailer; they've been good to deal with each time.
This harness did not fit the vehicle (2018 Fiat 124 Spider) it was recomended for. The part was recomended by etrailer.com but did not fit. See picture of packaging, It should have been pretty obviouse this was not going to fit. To return it they wanted to charge me almost $xx. Caution ordering from this web site, if they recomend it and it doesn't fit you are going to pay shipping to return it.

I am sorry to hear that this harness did not fit your 124 Spider. I do see that we do not carry anything on our site that will work on your vehicle. I am not sure how this harness even came into your search, but I will definitely make sure that this mistake will not happen again. As for finding a harness that will work, I would highly recommend contacting Fiat to see if they have a harness that they would recommend.

Very easy install, just make sure the ground wire has proper contact with the chassis or you will have issues with trailer lights doing some crazy things.
I am quite happy with this wiring kit! It truly is plug and play!!
After watching the video, the install was quick and easy.
I only deviated from the install video, where it concerns the ground wire.
It says to use a drill and make a 3/32 hole and use the self tapping screw, if you can not find an existing place to mount the ground wire.
On the CX-5 there is a perfectly placed nut that can be used, and you dont even need any extra tools above what the kit calls for.
When you pull off the plugs for the drivers side tail lights, you will also see 3 10mm nuts that hold the tail light in place.
Just remove the one below the brake light, and slip the ground wire over it and replace the nut.

Still working perfectly use it a lot because I use my little Mazda to tow my small boat to go fishing.
Seems to be high quality and perfect fit. I have hauled a few things with it, no problem. My advice is to just fully remove the muffler instead of dropping it. If you are installing it in your driveway like I did. It was very difficult to get leverage to squeeze it into place, but once I pulled the muffler, easy.
Bought for 2015 Honda Accord. The plugs did not match the vehicle. Confirmed that it was corrrect and was told Honda screwed up and to splice it in.

I am sorry that it needed to be spliced. Does your Honda Accord have LED tail lights? If it has LED tail lights then you would need part # C56173.
Wiring was easy, aside from some inevitable tight quarters gaining access to the rear of the taillights to connect everything.
Super easy to install. Still need to test it with a trailer though.
The hitch was great and went on without a problem. Wiring also worked great. Done! I bought from you because of your videos and they made installation so much easier. I am a do it yourselfer but at 73 was thankful for all you information and help via the videos. Would recommend your site to anyone in need of a hitch.

Very simple installation that connects to the existing tail light connectors without any extra splicing of wires
Great product, does what it says. Instructions were very generic and poorly written, and omitted a critical step - connecting the second in-line plug on the driver side for the running lights. Apart from that the install was very easy. The supplied adhesive mounting pad for the converter would not stick to the trunk interior paint, so I used heavy-duty hook and loop instead.
Very easy to install, and good plug len gth.

On my 2014 Mazda cx5 was easy and stright forward. I watched the install video on the product page for CX5, and just
Followed the steps in video. Took 10min to remove interior panels, ect, and 10 min to make all plug and play connections, no issues.
Then 10min to put panels back in place. Tested the flat connector
As described in video. Works perfectly. This is after I went to Uhaul and they spent almost 2 hours under my CX5 baffled and unable to install a traditional trailer wire kit. I left with hitch only and installed this plug and play kit, completely satisfied.

My wife and I installed a 2" Curt trailer hitch (and wiring) on our 2015 Mazda CX-5. Total installation time was about 2 hours. We didn't have any problems with the instillation of the hitch or wiring. Etrailer has a video link available, which should be viewed before you begin your installation. However, there wasn't any audio with this.
The hitch is solid and appears to be well built. Occasionally, we pull a small aluminum trailer loaded with kayaks, or other light items.
We have ordered from Etrailer before and feel they are a good company to do business with.
