Recommended Tow Bar Wiring For 2013 Honda Fit Being Flat-Towed

Question:

Purchased CURT 56011 T-Connector for connecting my motorhome to my Toad 2013 Honda Fit. Will this work ok connecting to Honda Fit, running the connector to the front of the Honda, and then having a line between Honda fit connector and the motorhome. Im not pulling a trailer with the Honda Fit, i just wanted to have the lights work with motorhome while traveling. Thanks.

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C56011 is designed to work with your Honda Fit to tow a trailer behind the vehicle. This harness is not designed for operating the lights on your Fit while it is being towed. For that you would need tow bar wiring.

When you flat-tow your Honda, you will need kit like part # 154-792-118158. This is a diode kit and includes the converter needed for your Honda with separate wire(meaning the brake light bulb is separate from the turn signal). I have attached a link to an installation video for this wiring on an older Honda Fit you can check out. To attach the 4-way connector from the vehicle I recommend using part # PK12716. The 4-way on the Honda plugs into the back of this adapter and then you just plug it into your motorhome.

If you are not familiar with flat-towing you can check out the attached helpful articles that explain what is needed. You will need base plates for the Honda, a tow bar, safety cables, the lighting(already covered), and most states now require supplemental brake systems.

If you need any of these items just let me know and I will make some recommendations that will work for you.
