Installation

T-One Connection Location Points

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath your vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

I installed the trailer lights connecter adapter into the wiring harness at the rear of my 1996 Ford F-150 today. The wires were exactly were the instructions said they would be located. With some effort after engaging the relief clip I was able to pull apart the wiring harness. Installing the trailer light connecter adapter went easily. I only had to pull lose one wiring harness holder from the frame to give more slack in the wiring harness to make room for adapter to fit. After installation I tested the lights and everything (turns signals, tail lights and brake lights) all worked properly. The quality of the adapter looks great just like it was a factory original part. I expect to have properly functioning trailer lights for a long time now. Thanks.

Thanks for the follow up. Grounding issues are usually the main problem with trailer lights intermittently working. Your trouble shooting and solution is exactly what we would recommend. If you need additional information here are some help articles that assist in identifying and solving wiring issues.

The products I ordered were received timely, installed easily, and were made of quality material. I look forward to years of quality service from these items. The service staff members at etrailer are kind, courteous, knowledgeable. I would highly recommend etrailer for your trailering needs. The only recommendation for improvement would be to tweek your on-line order tracking system. I received the items before I could track their whereabouts through the on-line order tracking system. Great site for quick reliable service!

by:
1994 Ford F-150

Product works great and installed perfectly just as the instructions said it would. Install only took about 5 minutes and was super simple. I didn't need any tools except for a Flathead screwdriver in order to release the old crappy clips that were on my truck wiring harness. My truck didn't have a trailer light hookup when I bought it so this item worked perfectly for what I needed and was way easier than splicing wires and making my own. Defiantly worth it and would buy again if I buy another truck and it doesn't have trailer lights.

A waste of money and most important my time, Put it in my old bronco to keep the original wiring
Super easy to install just unplug and plug the T and good to go. never use my bronco to pull trailers had it only as an emergency so on December 2018 I need to pull a trailer for my kids quads the wire didn't work, ended up heading to Autozone to buy a universal and spacing my wires in my bronco. Really disappointed with your product.

Having an older truck that’s been temperamental about the rear lights lately, I was very pleased that this plugged straight in and worked right away with no disruptions. I was dreading replacing a previous owners abomination of electrical wizardry. All I had to do was snip the old 4 pin wiring away and clean it up so as not to short anything out, then plug in the adapter to the truck’s wiring harness and to the new 7/4 pin plug and I was done.

Product #118316 T connector to factory lights on a 1995 Ford F-350 I was having trouble with my trailer lights so a friend of mine told me to buy a T connector, well I tried all of the normal places and they didnt have them, then a saw a video on U Tube and the guy was saying these little T Connectors from etrailer work great and are so simple to use, well he was not fooling I ordered one and it came sooner then expected plugged it in to my truck lights and boom all of the trailer lights work like a charm. Do not fool around with other retailers junk, Buy the right part the first time BUY etrailer you cannot go wrong.

Fit perfectly, no problems. Used with 4 pole to 7 pole connector 30717 on 1995 F 350. Truck had a pigtail for a brake controller wire, but deadheads at firewall. Ran separate wires to pre plumbed 30717 to connect brake contoller

by:

Easiest wiring install in my life. Unplug one connection and insert the T connection. Plug it back in and voila! Had the bracket to install on the rear bumper, found a spot, drilled a couple holes and it’s there forever now. Couple tie wraps to clean it up and you’re done in 10 minutes.
Works perfectly and should last as long as the truck does.

Just bought a trailer. Figured I would have to spend a lot of time splicing and wiring underneath my truck. Found this website and was able to find the part I needed quickly. There was even an installation instruction video. Received the part in three days and had it installed and working in less than 5 minutes. Thank you etrailer.

The wiring harness was going to be delivered by UPS on Tuesday but came in regular mail 3 day early. The harness seems well made. Very easy to install, took around 3 minutes. Worth every cent. I'm very happy with the wiring harness. I might order a hitch and wiring harness for our Edge Limited next.

This thing is awesome! Took a grand total of 5 minutes to install and route to my bumper where it was needed. Don't forget to get a few zip ties to secure the wire where it needs to be!

  • Parts Needed to Add 7-Way and 4-Way to 1995 Ford F-150 without Trailer Wiring
We have exactly what you need to add both a 4-way and 7-way to your 1995 Ford F-150. First you need to start with a 4-way which for that you'd want the part # 118316. Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. This also has a 4-way on the side of it. If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up...

  • What are the Pin Functions on a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 1995 Ford F-250
The typical 7-Way on a vehicle is wired as described below if looking at the back of the connector where the wires attach: 1:00 = running lights 3:00 = left turn/brake lights 5:00 = ground 7:00 = output from brake controller 9:00 = right turn/brake lights 11:00 = 12 volt power Center = reverse lights I have included a link to our wiring FAQ that includes diagrams. If your 1995 Ford F-250 did not come with a 7-Way, you will need to install # 37185 (if the truck came with a 4-Way). If...

  • What is Needed to Install Trailer Brake Controller in 1995 Ford F-150
Do you have a factory 4-flat on your 1995 Ford F-150? If so, you can add a 7-Way by simply plugging in the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185. If you do not have a 4-flat already then you need to start by adding a 4-way, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118316 which you only need to plug into your truck, beneath your rear bumper. Then for the 7-way you would then need to install the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.

  • Recommendation on Installing a 7-Way Connector and Brake Controller to a 1995 Ford F-150
I have the solution to your question. You will need to wire a 4-way flat plug as well as a 7-way plug to be able to connect a brake controller to your 1995 Ford F-150 and also have your lights connected to your trailer. First, you will need a wiring harness to connect to help connect to your trailer lights. The Tekonsha T-One Connector, # 118316, will plug in to your Ford's existing wiring and will allow you to have the 4-way trailer connector available for the next step. You will also...

If it is really a 6-Way and not a 7-Way blade style trailer connector then the center pin being hot would indicate that particular pin is the 12 volt power circuit. But the other functions not working could mean that tow package wiring fuses and/or relays are missing or need to be replaced. Check the truck owners manual to find the locations of any and all fuses related to the tow package wiring.
