I have the solution to your question. You will need to wire a 4-way flat plug as well as a 7-way plug to be able to connect a brake controller to your 1995 Ford F-150 and also have your lights connected to your trailer.
First, you will need a wiring harness to connect to help connect to your trailer lights. The Tekonsha T-One Connector, # 118316, will plug in to your Ford's existing wiring and will allow you to have the 4-way trailer connector available for the next step.
You will also need wiring kit # ETBC7. This kit will include the 7-way connector, mounting bracket, 10 feet of duplex wire, circuit breakers, and hardware needed to install the 7-way and all the wiring connections needed to install a brake controller. I have included a wiring diagram that shows the typical installation of the # ETBC7 on a vehicle.
As for a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Controller, # 90885-3035-P. The P2 is a proportional control that uses LED technology that allows for an easy to read display. This P2 includes the plug-in vehicle-specific adapter that will allow you to connect to your Ford's wiring that is located under the driver's side dash.
I linked a couple of FAQ articles for your to review. One is on installing a brake controller form scratch and the other is on the # ETBC7 kit.
