Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Honda CR-V to Be Used with 1-1/4 inch Thule Bike Rack

Question:

Hello, I thinking of purchasing theCurt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 Item # C13397 for a 2019 Honda CRV LX, I have Thule bike rack which has an 1 1/4 end. Do you sell an adapter which converts these different sizes, either on the bike rack end or the 2 receiver hitch end, if there is an option for each end please provide a link. Also I have a open bed trailer which is also 1 1/4 so can you provide a ball end which supports a 1 1/4 and will adapt into the 2 receiver. And, can you direct me to a link for a wiring harness which will support the connecting of a trailer as I have mentioned.. appreciate the help. thanks

From your bike rack's point of view it's probably best to go with a 1-1/4 inch hitch so that you don't have to use an adapter that might cause unwanted movement in the hitch. For that I would recommend the Curt # C12169 which is a Class II confirmed to fit that will work great with you bike rack. Some of the Thule bike racks have hitch adapter sleeves but if you have the very popular T2 bike rack then there isn't so going with the correct hitch size for it is the way to go.

Now your trailer connects to a hitch ball which is connected to a ball mount that fits into the trailer hitch of the vehicle. The trailer does not require you to use a specific hitch size. So you can use the Class II hitch I mentioned as long as you pick the correct hitch ball size.

For trailer wiring you'd then want the Curt # C56370 as it installs easily and is very reliable.
