Hello everybody, this is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the TecNiq Waterproof Amber LED Boat Accent Light. Let's zoom in here to show you the light up close. It's a very small rectangular LED light that'll emit a nice amber light for improved visibility and any accent lighting aboard your boat. This will light up cabinets, steps, walkways, and other areas of your boat's interior. Now, this is a sealed waterproof unit.

It does include a durable polycarbonate housing and UV resistant lens, and it uses military-grade construction of the circuit board on the slide. They do use urethane potting that offers better protection than the common epoxy potting. And the slide does have an IP68 rating. Now the LEDs they use are premium LEDs. They're energy efficient, long-lasting, and vibration resistant.

They're rated for up to 50,000 hours of operation. Now, I do have this hooked to some 12 volt power just to demonstrate how bright the light is and the color of it. So what we're gonna do is go ahead and turn on our power. And you can see with the power on, there's your four amber LEDs. We'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights and you can see how bright it is.

Now I'm even gonna zoom back out just so you can see from a distance the bright light it gives off. We'll zoom back in. Now, this is a clear lens over four amber LEDs. It is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. Go ahead and turn back on our lights, turn off our power.

Now, it is a surface mount installation. It does mount using a protective, horizontal or vertical mounting cover, which we do sell separately on our website. Lots of times they are listed on the product page as a related product. But basically if you mount it in a horizontal cover, it's gonna emit a 60 degree beam. If you mount it in a vertical cover, it's gonna emit a 40 degree beam. Now the hardware to install those covers are not included. It does require two screws to install those covers with the slide in it. Now this does hardwire. I just wanted to unhook our power and just show you, this will hardwire to your application. It's a two wire design, a power and a ground. Wire length on this is about nine inches long. Now the dimension on the light itself, the overall length, it's gonna be right at one and one eighth inches long, the height of it is only about three eights of an inch tall, and the total depth of it is right at a half an inch deep. Light output is 32 lumens, input voltage, nine volts to 14 volts, and the power draw on the slide is 0.08 to 0.12 amps.
