Today, we're going to take a look at the RockyMounts Maddox U-lock Keyed Bike Lock. This bike lock is designed to prevent the grab and go bike theft. It has a nice, easy-release key lock design and a spring-loaded engagement makes the operation very effortless. It comes with the three dimple design keys. Basically, to open it up, you'll see the hole right down here where the key goes. Go ahead and push your key in there, and just turn it a quarter of a turn.
That'll release the shackle from the lock assembly. Then when you go to lock it, you just slide this back in, turn your key and remove it, and it's all locked in there, simple as that. Other nice feature, if you notice this portion right here. It's a rotating lock cover that you can just turn this and it will cover that key opening. Keeps the key way free of any debris. Doesn't let anything build up in there and cause a problem.
Now the shackle itself is a 12mm hardened diameter steel shackle. A few dimensions on this, I'm going to give you the measurements of the shackle size inside diameter here. The width on it is going to be right at four and a half inches wide. The height from the bottom to the very inside is going to be 7 and 7/16ths tall. The other nice thing, if you notice, attached here on the side, this includes this mounting bracket. Has a nice protective sleeve in it.
That's designed to attach to your frame of your bike. It lets you store this lock while you're riding. It has a very easy release. If you see this button right here, you push that button, it will allow you to remove the lock. This will stay attached to your bike frame.
