Calle din for assitance and they were very professional.
Installed on a 2023 GMC 3500 Denali CCLB. Not much experience but I an a little handy. Pre-installation - watched the etrailer video. While installing I watched the video again step by step. Make sure you watch the video into the next step of install before proceeding w/the previous step. It will make your install more clean. Product works great.., phone app & remote paired & connected perfectly. Thanks for the install video & very satisfied with the product. All wiring, tubing & misc. parts were included.
I purchased the Airlift Wireless AIR compressor system at the same time as the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs w/ Internal Bumpers. This system was installed on my 2017 Ram 2500. It has been one year since I purchased and installed the whole system. I wanted this system because I tow a fifth wheel on very long trips and wanted something to control the rear end of my tow vehicle as far as sway and spring sag and also to have the truck ride level wage loaded sap as to keep the headlight’s always adjusted properly. The wireless air works through an app on my iPhone and works seamlessly to keep the set amount of air always adjusted. It’s very easy to increase or decrease pressure on the fly. The presets are great when you hook up or unhook just select your preset and you are good. Having the wireless compressor is expensive but extremely convenient. No hooking up an external compressor or running around without a trailer and having your airbags riding sky high. We did a little over 10k miles so far on the system and it has worked without a single issue. I have recommended this system to friends who camp with us.
All looks reasonably well. Biggest concern is the wiring harness. Why is there 2 different gauge wire on the leads going the battery? Looks like 12 gauge on the connector end that is about 8 feet long, spliced and reduced to a smaller gauge extending about another 8 feet. Why isn't the wire all the same gauge?
Wouldn’t have bought airbags without this. I can control it via my phone.
Pulling a fifth wheel RV trailer, and a gooseneck trailer on the farm, the airlift bags, along with the onboard compressor has made pulling either trailer safer due to the leveling ability this kit allows.
Customer service from etrailer was great with making sure I received the exact kit for my truck.
Five stars for sure!
Easy install, works great. Nice having the ability to adjust bags as needed on the fly.
Great product and service from the team at etrailer.
easy to install. Push a button, and raise airbag pressure, push another button let out pressure, pretty much wish i had spent the money on this system for my previous truck. I may fabricate a little metal shield to go over the compressor and solenoid/bluetooth package to keep mud and salt off them. I installed compressor behind storage bump out thing to block spray from from tires. I still have to install compressor air intake filter, i am going to install it inside that little storage compartement so compressor always gets fairly fresh cab air.
Premium priced kit with compromises; the wiring loom is poorly constructed and isn't wrapped in flex housing or any protection (none is provided either), the air lines provided are very cheap and don't seal well in the air fittings. additionally there are some features missing from the kit "due to supply chain" while it was kept at the same price it was previously. not impressive for a xxx$ kit.
These set up is much better than the 72000 I had before. The wireless controller fits my hand much easier.
The only regret I have is I didn’t buy the 7500 with this set up.
I’ve used airlift since 2003. If it wasn’t the best for me I wouldn’t have kept using it.
If you decide to get the best airlift buy it from trailer they have the best inventory and prices.
This airlift system works as advertised. Installation was simple. The wireless remote with presets is great. I have presets for 10 psi, 50 psi and 100 psi. One push of a button and I am ready for most all the loads that I haul.
Any moderately skilled DIY’er can install this unit. The instructions leave a little to the imagination, and therefore at times require some creativity, but overall the install went relatively smooth, and the compressor has been running like a top ever since. I had a little challenge, locating a fuse that was switched with my level of expertise on electrical matters. Once a fuse was located, I needed to purchase a fuse jumper to fit my 2013 F-150 properly rather than use the copper tab provided. The provided tab broke after trying it in a couple locations.
The Bluetooth mobile phone application works well. You can set up to three preset pressures and then select the appropriate pressure for your springs based on the use. I did have a slow air leak after my initial installation was complete. I used the method indicated in the instructions to find the leak, and it ended up being a loose fitting. Once that was corrected, the system held pressure pretty well.
Overall I am extremely happy with this product.
2020 GMC 2500. Did LoadLifter 5000 and EZ compressor set up.
The exhaust runs down the passenger side and the fuse box with switched power signal is on the driver side so for multiple reasons I wanted to mount the compressor on the driver side. I couldn’t do inside the rail as I would have preferred given all the DEF and fuel tanks. Above the frame rail running down most of the truck are 2 solid brake lines that would interfere with the U bolt to mount the EZ compressor assembly vertically as I originally intended. I did find a space I could fit it in without interference with those lines but it hung low and was more visible and exposed that I preferred. I did find though 2 existing holes in the frame that the U bolt fit in perfectly for a horizontal mount without interference and much higher and better tucked up under the truck for a super clean mount. The U bolt threads didn’t run deep enough for a single frame wall mount so for $3, I bought steel spacers and after painting them inside and out for corrosion resistance, I mounted very easily for a “customized” no drill $3 option. There is also a large wire harness that runs from that spot all the way to the battery so it was easy to run my wires along side and attach to that all the way up. Very happy with that location as air lines were easy to run and plenty long from there as well and put in 2 service loops just in case.
I ended up running the pink wire to the fuse box and bought some fuse splicer wires Iike in the etrailer video. Hesitated to trim the fuse box on my brand new truck so the lid would close and like to keep mods as unnoticeable as possible so wanted to see how well it performed just based on motion and waking with the remote or app. I’ll wire it later if needed but just left it tucked for now.
I also picked up some Daystar airbag cradles and mounted those to bottom bracket using the existing center hole in the bracket. Just picked up longer SS countersink bolts and hex nuts. No drill but I did have to trim the bolts off for a perfect length. Now the stretch of the airbag doesn’t limit suspension travel down and I don’t have to worry about bag damage when on a service lift down the road. Obviously when under its own weight or loaded the bags fit snugly and are well supported by the cradles. Outside of the time to buy the additional hardware that took zero additional time and is much preferred as now I can take it to the shop without worry. The only draw back is they are 6” cradles and I would have preferred the 7500# air bags for extra duty but they are 7”. I run the same setup on my 2002 Excursion and knew for sure I wanted the cradles so stayed with 5000# bags. I’m not loading a skid steer in the bed so really that should be plenty.
Love the AirLift system and have ran them for years. Glad to have them installed on my new truck and look forward to the next load.
Put pics of bags with suspension full droop, and then under normal weight. Also pics of the mounting location and final mounted compressor set up and look from side of truck.
Would recommend this set up for anyone who uses their truck like a truck and would recommend these minor mods on the install.
This product is great, the only reason I give it 4 starts instead of 5, is because every once in a while when trying to connect in the app, the app won't find the device, and I have to go to the "add new device" screen and search for the compressor. When I do this, it usually reconnects right away no issues. Not a huge deal, but a little irritating sometimes.
After a year the unit has worked as advertised I've not had a issue with it. I did have to take the compressor out of the mounting kit to install it on the 2019 F-350 I couldn't find a place to mount the EZ mount. other that that I've been very happy with it. I did mount the compressor with a vibration dampener works well I don't hear any vibration in the cab of the truck also I made a stand off for the controller so I would not have to move a brake line.
It works once you get it working. Getting there could be easier. Things are packaged to make it easier for the manufacturer it seems. Required cutting and splicing wires more than needed considering the standard installation from the instructions. That being said, it was a simple installation. For the money I wish the airline length was a little more generous. I had enough but I had to adjust my original airlines to my airbags that I installed before installing this. Don't freak out from seeing the bad reviews on the phone app. You have to connect it to your Bluetooth shortly after turning it on. You may need to unplug it and reconnect it to get it to work. The Bluetooth has good range. This fills
my airlift 7500xl bags really quickly. I wish the instructions were better particularly with the electrical aspects. Overall great product.
I guess overall it’s not bad. The problem is every time it gets below say, 15° for any length of time, it freezes up & locks out in error. You have to go out, pull the fuse and make it reset itself. The lines are installed as instructed & they don’t have any condensation in them that I could see when I inspect it, so I’m not sure why it does that so often. Otherwise, it does with it programmed to do, fill up the airbags as needed.
Great system with easy install. Unfortunately remote broke well before the year mark. Hopefully their warranty process isn’t too cumbersome. Problem with the remote failing is there might not be any other way to charge up your system. I had to remove the fuse to let air out of the bags manually at one point. Other than the remote system works well and hasn’t failed.
Great to be able to adjust both airbags or either in isolation from the cab of my truck or from the rear of my truck camper as I’m leveling at the campsite. This is a pricey option but worth the investment in convenience value!
I had bought a new F450 truck to haul my new truck camper. I had bought everything I needed from E-Trailer. Hitch, tie downs, and air bags. I absolutely love the air bag system. Worth every dime. I can raise the rear of the truck, so it will be level. I haven’t had any problems with anything. I definitely would, invite anyone who is hauling a large camper, to invest in air bags. Everything was installed at E-Trailer in Wentzville, MO. A absolute professional.job, done well. Thank you E-Trailer. From a happy camper.
Should’ve put this on my last 2 trucks, it’s pricey but worth it. I’ve had it a year pulling a 5th wheel, works great!
I put on my F250 Diesel and it works like a dream. I pull a 13,000 pound fifth wheel camper and trailer with skid loader on it on the rear hitch. My truck does does not squat with the 20# of pressure and pulls like a dream.
Although you need to be handy to install this system, it has worked very well.
Air Lift makes a very nice easy to install system. Took me about 3 hours to install including the Air Lift Wireless Air Compressor System.
I did not notice a change in drivability or handling, that was never an issue but how the truck rides is amazing when loaded. Riding on an Air Cushion taking the load off the secondary springs makes it feel like the truck is unloaded.
At the push of a button the truck is at ride height. The headlights are no longer pointing at the stars.
I like your product so much I am ordering a system for my Dually.
