What's up everybody Adam here, with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Bulldog Cast Head Adjustable Trailer Coupler. So what you're gonna need with this, it only comes with the coupler. It's gonna need a two inch ball for your vehicle. So if you don't have one, pick one here up at etrailer. It's made of cast, has a nice powder coated finish and this is gonna insert inside a three inch wide channel.
So if you don't have a channel, you can grab those here at etrailer as well. But if you do, just make sure that the inside is gonna be three inches. There is a little bit of play and the hardware is included. So if you have maybe a couple washers, you can put that in there just to make this nice and tight. That would definitely be something I would add to it.
Another thing you're gonna need is, we have a wedge style latch right here. Spring loaded, which is really cool but it does not come with a pin. So I like these pins. That'll insert in here. This one's a little long for this but you're definitely gonna want to get a pin as well.
But when it comes to this, it's gonna have a capacity of 8,000 pounds. So you just wanna make sure that whatever you plan on putting on your trailer, make sure you're not gonna exceed that, but everything really comes with it. All you have to do is just either weld on a channel like this, or if you already have one, all have to do is just take the old one out and put the new one in. You just need a 24 millimeter socket wrench to tighten these down. And it's pretty simple stuff.
If I we're to compare this to something else that we have on our website, the latch is probably the biggest difference. So we have one that we pulled off and this is the Easy Latch. So with this one, you can pull this latch up and it'll stay up. And as you can see this one isn't gonna do that, unless we have a pin or something in place. So that is one upgrade that you could look for. Because this, you can even keep it closed like this. And as you lower it down, it's gonna go up like that. And then pop into place. So we do have those options on our website as well. But I do think this is gonna be a great option for you. Couple of measurements for you. The overall length of this coupler is about eight and a half inches. From the center of the mounting holes to the end, it's about eight inches and the overall length it's gonna add to the edge of our channel is about seven. And that'll do it for our look at the Bulldog Adjustable Cast Head Trailer Coupler..

Durable cast coupler features the easy-to-use Wedge Latch for simple, quick hookup and can be used with an adjustable-height bracket for moderate customization.I had to wait a bit for this one, but I wanted this TYPE of coupler so I can lock it with a master lock. This is HEAVY DUTY, really made well and to last more years than I have left on this earth! Easy for me (elder female) to use/easy to latch, unhook. Gives me a great feeling to KNOW this is latched solidly and WON'T jump off the ball...I am so happy with this coupler, and the wait was well worth it!! Photos show the new Bulldog coupler and the replaced white one on the ground.

This is a substantial ball hitch. I haven't installed it yet since I intend to paint it. The gray paint on it seems to be only a primer and it isn't adhering well to the metal. So I wire-wheeled the paint off. That was a quick job--the gray came off easily. Some lacquer thinner will clean the metal and then the metal primer will adhere well. Then I'll paint it to match the CornPro trailer. This hitch can be locked with a regular lock, or so it appears. I haven't tried it yet to be sure. The ball socket is simply the rough casting, like all the rest of the hitch, so I hope it won't roughen up the ball. Grade 5 bolts with nylon insert nuts were included. The trailer had grade 8 bolts. So I will keep an eye on the wear. I would rather replace worn bolts every few years than have grade 8 bolts wear the softer bolt holes. On a 6,000 GTW trailer, I don't think grade 5 bolts will be sheared off.
eTrailer was great to work with. Product Shipped way quicker than expected and there was no issues. I will definitely be going back to them in the future.
Nice heavy duty. Adjustable Coupler fits great. The lever to lock it is the kind I prefer. Its easy to open and close.

As always, I have nothing but praise for eTrailer and their products. I love the BullDog hitches and use them on all of my trailers (I have quite a few) and I would definitely recommend them.
The etrailer staff are the best with working with customers. Part of my order was lost and working with etrailer representative a suitable replacement part was quickly shipped out and charges for the original part list in shipping removed. I am grateful for the concern and interest from etrailer to make sure I was a satisfied customer. Not many companies really work with their customers anymore.
