Today we're going to take a look at the Valterra Bug Screen for the Suburban 6 gallon flush mount RV water heat vents. This Valterra bug screen is for the RV water heater. This one is particularly designed to fit the Suburban 6 gallon flush mount water heat vents. Very easy to install. It's made of a heavy duty stainless steel construction. The nice thing with this vent is it's designed to keep out any unwanted pests, and it'll minimize the airflow restriction.
This part includes everything shown here: The screen, the installation tool, the 2 spring fasteners to install it, and a nice set of detailed instructions that describe how to install it. Give you a few dimensions on this. Overall dimension is going to be 6 3/4 by 6 3/4. The depth of it is about 1.3 inches deep. Now it is recommended that the screens must be inspected monthly and cleaned when necessary to maintain your proper airflow. Again, it comes with the installation tool that will include the 2 spring fasteners that'll attach this to the RV water heater. Works great on a 2021 Jayco Jay Feather 24BH
The screen is great. Nice and sturdy. Easy to install. I used this on the right side of the heater door. Part number A10-1322VP for the left side.
The retaining clips, not so much. On paper, this was probably a good idea, but I could not get the clip to stay connected. I ended up using a role of small medium gauge wire to hold this in place and now the screen is locked in place.
