Hello neighbors, I'm Steve here at etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the replacement key for your tool racks and carriers, specifically key number N2824. Now, how do you know which key you need Well, it's actually pretty simple. Just go to your carrier or your rack, look for the engraving on the front face of your lock core. Right next to where you insert that key, you should see an engraved number. That's the number that you're looking for.
That's the key number. Now zooming in here, you can see clearly that 2824 engraved on this key. You're getting one key, one replacement key with purchase. Folks, if you need more than one key, that's no problem. Just simply update the quantity in the cart before you place your order.

Replace a missing Thule key with this equivalent part.The key really isn’t the problem the lock is jammed ip and I called the factory and said they won’t sell me a new lock I have to buy a whole new cargo box that’s why I’m leaving a bad review

Unbelievable, have to admit I was very sceptical about the replacement key working on my rooftop cargo carrier, since I purchase the carrier from Sears. I purchased two new keys for a Thule car top carrier that I bought on Craig's List. I was a bit leery because all that was needed was the number on the key. The keys arrived three days later and worked smoother than the original. I highly recommend etrailer.com.

Great service and key works perfect
I was able to find the replacement key for my x-cargo carrier. The entire process was rather easy from ordering to delivery.
Bought a used car-top carrier off of Craigslist. Seller had lost the key and drilled out the rivets of the lock mechanism to get his stuff out, but was selling it so cheap it was worth it. My two options were to try to find a replacement locking mechanism or replacement keys. I went with the keys. Two small bolts to resecure the lock and replacement keys from e-trailer and I was golden. Couldn't be happier.
You do have to make sure you're getting the correct key for your carrier, I ordered the wrong one the first time, but that was totally my mistake. Get the right key and it will work like a charm! Much cheaper than replacing the lock!

I bought a roof-rack cargo box from a local auto parts store that was closing. I got the display model at a huge discount because they had lost the key to it. This key worked perfectly!
Honestly I didn’t think I would ever find a key for the roof box I found on the side of the road, but you guys proved me wrong! (I should have ordered 2) I got the replacement key yesterday and it works perfectly!! So excited to have a roof box for camping now, that I can actually lock up! Great product and service. I ordered this key for an older model (2002-ish) Karrite cartop carrier, using the code on the lock mechanism itself. I received the key 5 days after ordering and it fits perfectly, no issues. I would/will recommend this method of procuring a lost key to anyone from this point forward!
We lost the keys to our car top carrier purchased from Sears. Sears was completely unable to assist us in getting replacements, telling us we had to provide the number found on the lock INSIDE the locked car top carrier. etrailer staff were very helpful over the phone assuring us that they were able to provide us with a replacement key. This key replaced a key to a rooftop carrier that I purchased at Pep Boys (Voyager XL). It's my understanding that the key is identical to Thule (I assume Thule makes this rooftop carrier and brands it Voyager XL) so I used the number from the lock on the topper and ordered the Thule key. It works perfectly.
