Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at and showing you how to replace the lift handles on your Thule Sonic Rooftop Box. These come in both sides, the left and the right side, and the way you tell the difference is just holding it up in place, there's gonna be a small cutout on the bottom, and with that cutout on the bottom, the more narrow tapered end will be to the front of the box, and this thicker end will be towards the rear of the box, so you can kinda hold it up in place, see if it matches, and go from there. Install is gonna be really straightforward, you just need a Phillips head screwdriver and access to the inside of the box. Let's get started. So it's gonna be really hard to get a camera in there to show you, but on the inside of the box, you can feel three Phillips head screws, one here, one here, and one towards the front right here.
We're just gonna remove those real quick. Now, these don't come included with the replacement lift handles, but if you do need these, you can get them separately, just check out that part number on our website. Those will pop out just like that, we'll set these aside for our install and use them to reinstall the new handle. Now, ours isn't damage or anything, but you can definitely see it's scuffed up and worn, and if we wanna give the box a newer look, a replacement's a good way to go. It's pretty easy to do, so let's get the new one in place using those same screws and our Phillips head screwdriver.
I'll probably just pop through one of the screws in the middle here, get that lined up and loosely secured, and then I can loosely secure the other two and tighten them all down. And with all the screws tightened down, you're done. Like I said, it's a really easy install, so if yours is damaged, it's easy to replace, and if you need the hardware, you can pick up that too. That'll do it for a look at the replacement lift handle on our Thule Sonic Roof Box. Thanks for watching..
