Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Seaflo 15 Amp Float Switch for 12 Volt, 24 Volt, and 32 Volt DC Bilge Pumps. Now, this float switch will convert your manual bilge pump to an automatic operation. The switch will activate your pump when the water level reaches two and a quarter inches and turns the pump off when the water level reaches one inch. And this switch can be used with any make or model bilge pump drawing up to 15 amps.
It is a weighted design, you can hear the weighted ball in there that goes back and forth. This will help prevent the switch from getting stuck. And it is a more reliable operation than the traditional snap switches that are used.This is ultrasonic welded body. It's water tight, so that makes this fully submersible and it is mercury free. As we mentioned, it's designed to work with 12 Volt, 24 Volt, and 32 Volt DC pumps.
This does meet the ISO 8846 marine standards. And it is a very easy installation. It comes with everything you need. Includes the two stainless steel screws to screw it down. Now, when mounting this switch, you do want to make sure the switch does not surpass 30 degrees sideways, which when you mount it, you don't want it to go more than 30 degrees sideways.
And you don't want it to be more than five degrees front or back.A few specs on this, it includes a three-foot wire length, here, and the wire size is 16 gauge. And the maximum power draw on this is 15 amps at 12 volts DC, seven and a half amps at 24 volts DC and six amps at 32 volts DC. Mentioned it comes with the mounting screw and a nice set of instructions that will describe how this installs.
