Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the SearSucker 4 1/2" low-profile vacuum mount. Now this is a 4 1/2" pump action low-profile vacuum cup that lets you mount of variety of objects to most horizontal or vertical non-porous surfaces with no tools required. Uses this pump action vacuum, which will create 120 pounds of pull strength without denting or scratching the surface that it's attached to. And it will attach or remove to a surface in seconds.
I am going to demonstrate that here in a minute on this part here. The slotted holes. I'm going to zoom in a little bit as we talk about the part here. The slotted hole right here in the top, this will let you hang or bolt a variety of objects to it. Basically, if you just remove these four screws right here, you can pop the housing off, attach your accessory to that slotted hole with bolts and nuts, and then attach the housing back to it. The other way is if you look over here and right at the top here, these are 1/4" by 20 stainless steel inserts, threaded inserts that'll let you attach other SeaSucker products to the top or to the side of it.
Additional accessories that they offer to attach to this are flex mounts and camera mounts for your camera, for techies. For Marine use, they have cup holders, fishing rod holders that'll screw into there, and then you can use this suction cup to hold it into place. All the metal parts are high-grade stainless steel, even the springs that are inside the pump, to give you extra durability in the elements. This is a hard plastic construction, it's lightweight yet durable. If you do notice, I took off this protective cap here, this'll prevent the vacuum cup from hardening or cracking. Basically it has a little lip on it that you can just push it under there.
And if you go around, push it all the way around, it'll secure this cover on it to protect the cup there. It does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how to operate and how to maintain it. Does even come with this nice little tube of waterproof lubricant, and this is used to help prevent the plunger from sticking. After a lot of use, this plunger might stick, so what you can actually do is pull this plunger right out, clean it, put some lubricant on it, push it back in there and you're back to like it was when it was brand new. You can see it has a nice black color, it is made in the USA. Load rating, again, is 40 pounds.
The pull rating is 120 pounds. Dimension on this, the diameter, let me put a ruler on, you can see. Probably right at 4 1/2". The weight of it is only about a half a pound or eight ounces. So what I want to do now, inaudible 00:02:35 these up here, I'm going to slide this. Zoom out just a little more, and I'm going to slide this over and what I wanted to show you is how this will mount. This is a nice piece of steel. What you'll want to do first is clean the mounting surface and then the face of the cup before you apply it. And it'll even say right on here, just apply a little moisture just around the sealing edge right here. And then once you do that, just hold it up against where you want to put it. You do want to make sure that that orange line there is visible, and then what you do is just put a little pressure against it. And then as you keep pushing down, pump this plunger until the cup will completely attach, and then what you'll notice after a while, as you're pumping it, that orange band is disappeared. It's hidden in the cylinder. That means it's secure. So it's going to hold everything, it's not going to go anywhere. If that orange band happens to appear, meaning it's losing some of its seal, all you have to do is just pump the plunger again. Now you're all ready to go, you can attach your objects to there, whatever you want. To release it, there's a tab up here and a tab down here. So if you just pull up on that tab, you can see that it'll release the pressure. You can remove it very simple and easy. And again, just to show you, if you want to put it over here, put a little pressure up against it and then just push this a few times. And you could feel it actually attaching to that. The band's gone, you're attached, it's not going to go anywhere. You can't move it. And then again, to remove it, just pull one of these tabs and it releases it, it's all ready to go. Simple as that. Very nice product. And we do offer this with other of those accessories I mentioned that you can hook a camera to it or GPS or anything. But that should do it for the review on the SeaSucker 4 1/2" low-profile vacuum mount.
