Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at these Yakima axe or shovel mounting brackets. These are a dual bracket set that's going to allow you to mount an axe or shovel to the outside of your Yakima Warrior Series cargo basket. This is gonna work with the SkinnyWarrior, the LoadWarrior, or the MegaWarrior carriers. These will just simply bolt onto the outside of your basket and then will provide the mounting point for a single or a double bit axe or a shovel weighing up to eight pounds.
These are constructed of a very durable steel so they are gonna hold up well. They also have a a black powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion. And they come with a lifetime warranty so if you we're to have any issues with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us, but I really don't think you're gonna have any problems. I think these are gonna do a great job allowing you to add on that axe or shovel. Some of our neighbors did talk about how it's a good idea to tighten these up on a regular basis because they will potentially wiggle loose or get loose as you go down the road so a good idea to tighten them at regular intervals.

Brackets install easily and hold axes or shovels weighing up to 8 lbs.I received my ax/shovel brackets today and had them on my Yakima rack less that half an hour after receiving them. Installation was a breeze. Once mounted these holders securely clamp my ax and shovel (looking for a good looking stainless shovel now....) to the sides of the basket securely. They look good also. I would like to have seen less plastic in this product but I believe that they will last for years as long as no overtightening occurs when clamps are tightened. In all-a great product.
I had to wait for the kit because of the virus making everything be on backorder. Once I got notice of it being in stock again I had it in only a few business days. Product arrived safe and ahead of est. date. Thank you
Yakima makes a great product. But doesn’t go far enough in the amount of accessories they make for their products . Why just make a shovel or a axe holder. Why not make one for both. To satisfied my application, I have had to go to another manufacturer to get both. Having said this, the best part of this purchase has been with erailer!! The customer service is excellent and I continue buying from them! Thanks!
I knew ahead of placing my order, that the mounting nuts were plastic, but still, it is a great setup, one which, if need be, I can improve upon. I would recommend this setup for Jeep rooftops.

A year later and I still like my Yakima products tremendously. I did lose one of the shovel brackets when it fell off the rack due to looseness I now check them every time I go on the road. They tend to loosen up over time. I also have the rack on the Jeep. I shipped my entire rig to Panama this past year. Due to salt in the air I had a lot of rust on parts of the Jeep but None at all on the Yakima products. I was amazed at that. All in all: great products.
