Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the replacement legs for the Reese M5 5th wheel trailer hitch on the Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Now, this is a custom-fit part. These legs will fit the 2020, the 2021 Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500 HD trucks that have the factory towing option. Basically, these replacement legs fit the Reese M5 5th wheel trailer hitch.
It works on two hitches, part number RP26FR and part number RP58FR. Both of those hitches we do sell separately on our website and these parts are just the replacement legs. Now, these legs will bolt to the center section of the Reese M5 5th wheel trailer hitch. Does include the hardware. And right here, you can see there's the two threaded holes on each leg that the hardware will hold this to the center section of the hitch.
Basically, once they're all put together, these legs are what'll drop into the four receiver pucks that are built into your factory underbed rails. And the way the hitch will install using these legs, let me just zoom in so you can see better. But you'll see this is on one side, it'll be the same on the other side. But what you'll do is you'll take out this linchpin and that'll allow these handles to move. And you'll rotate this handle 90 degrees, rotate this one 90 degrees.
And if you notice when I rotated them, these tabs down here will also rotate. So, once they're in the open position like that, and you'll do the same on the other side. Now, your hitch is ready to drop into the factory pucks. Once it drops into those pucks, those tabs will go in there. You'll rotate this handle back and that'll lock it into that puck.
You'll do the same here. And as I mentioned, you do the two on the other leg. And then once those are lined up, you'll take your linchpin, and just go ahead and put your linchpin through all three holes. Once you get it through the holes, and then just flip it to where it holds those handles in place so they don't move and that'll lock it to the vehicle. And again, as I mentioned, you do the same on the other legs. And then with it installed, now to remove it, you'll just do the opposite as I just showed you. Take out the linchpin, open the handles. Do the same on the other side. That'll allow you to completely take the whole hitch out of your truck bed. And as we mentioned, it does come, you can see with all the hardware you need to install it. I installed them myself today in about an hours time.
Received Replacement legs as promised unfortunately came with no instructions. Although was able to watch video on the etrailers web site. Had little bit of trouble install in puck system but got it to finally fit.

Product comes with no instruction and the qr code link does no good. The threads in the legs need to cleaned out with a tap or thread chaser to get the paint out so you can assemble it. Make sure you have a M16 x 2 tap when you go to install.
The Reese M5 is an amazing hitch. simple and heavy duty.
