Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going take a look at this replacement center section for the Reese M5 27K 5th Wheel Hitch. Now this part will replace the center section on the 27K Reese M5 5th Wheel trailer hitch. It is designed to work with hitch part numbers RP30895, RP30922, RP37FR, RP46FR AND RP58FR. All of those hitches we do sell separately on our website. Now this is just the center section.
It does require the pivoting head that sits on top here, which is part number RP30892, and the legs, which bolt to the side here. Those items are sold separately, and they're usually listed on this product page as a related product. Now, the hardware to install this, you can see is included. The center section offers a nice closed connection between the head and the pivot bushings to further reduce any rattle or movement. And because these pivot bushings, let me just zoom in to show what we're talking about.
Right here, there's one on each side. These pivot bushings are independent from the head. They can be tightened to ensure a strong connection over time. You can see it has the nut on it that you can tighten up right here. There's one on this side, and if I spin it, probably be able to see there's one on this side.
So as they wear over time, just keep tightening it up to give you a strong connection. This does have a nice black powder coat finish over the whole piece to resist rust and corrosion. If you notice on this side, it has three rows of holes, and the reason they do that is when you bolt your legs to this, you need to put it at the correct hitchhike you need for your application. So it gives you a range of about four inches of hitch height that you can bolt your legs to. But that should do it for the review on the replacement center section for the Reese M5 27K 5th Wheel Hitch..
